Tip: Virgin Oak, 43-46% and very delicious! ;-)
I like it really well - great intense, dangerously tasty, sweet and spicy - and the PLV is also more than correct. It may be that he wins another point. My mini-sample was simply not enough for a detailed study of the beautiful malt. That's why it's got to be a big bottle.
    • Nose
      --- --- BLINDTASTING --- ---
Vanilla, flower nectar, orange blossom, honey, banana, cardamom, malty sweetness, roasted flavors, coconut, fine spicy oak
    • Taste
sweet and voluminous; a lot of vanilla, flower nectar, honey banana from the pan with cinnamon and cardamom, malty-sweet, coconut, coconut cream, caramel, white chocolate, ginger biscuits, burnt brioche, super-beautiful woody notes, nothing bitter !, grapes ...
    • Finish
medium; wonderfully sweet with roasted aromas that last a long time, caramel, pear, warm banana ...

Nose: vanilla, sweet vanilla, even sweeter vanilla, a little glue, depending on the distance to the glass before the first sip also stronger adhesive notes, after the first sip you will find delicious exotic fruits together with fruity sweetness and light spicy oak, green jasmine tea, intense orange blossom - One may not take the nose away, the adhesive notes are completely gone, the nose is a dream Taste: round, syrupy viscous, honey sweetness, sweet malt, fresh woody notes with a light spiciness, probably from the wood a quite strong tingling on the tongue which remains even after the finish. Sawdust and resin I hide in the sweetness that could also come from sherry casks, with each further sip of the woody notes are more intense on the palate, the finish is a gentle long fade out the sweetness, which increasingly passes into the woody notes, finally dry and astringent, not bitter, very long
Conclusion: very intense and very aromatic, well integrated alcohol, the nose is the highlight, I should have hoarded more of it ...

Outstanding for that period of maturation time.
    Outstanding for that age.
    Outstanding for that price.

It seems that the maturation in virgin wood is the key point: All those maltheads, that don't love whiskies fully aged or finished in virgin wood will tend to give few points and all the others might come out with votings like mine. Just swallowed a 0.1 litre sample.
Full bottle is underway. That's good. Really good.

Full tasting review will follow after the next test. I have to add the information that I generally get off on virgin oak maturation or finishes, that might explain the high rating.

Delicious! This malt captures the sweet basic character of Benriach very nicely and builds its strengths. 88/100. Tasty! This paints builds nicely on the sweet character of BenRiach and enhances it's virtues. 88/100

The oak has obviously taken this one over, but it's still rather tasty. Some kind of high malt scottish Bourbon?
    • Nose
Medium to light. Fresh, bourbony. With a little hay and barnyard, then just lots of oaky spice and preserved fruit. Maraschino cherries. Tinned peaches.
Pine honey and resin. Green bananas. Vanilla pudding. Charred wood.
With time: Milk chocolate and crushed hazelnuts. Sandalwood. Very nice.
    • Taste
Good presence, again very spicy and bourbony. Even a little buttered corn. Plum jam, cherries. Candied angelica and ginger, fruit loaf.
    • Finish
Dry, medium, not too long. With allspice and cinnamon dancing on the tongue. Banana. A bit of mint. Really indistinguishable from any kind of decent bourbon.

Beautiful nose but palate is slightly flawed.
    Still not bad
    • Nose
Intense, its very spirity and hits you with an uppercut. It then develops to coconut shavings and thick lashings of creamy vanilla with coconut essence. There's still a presence of virgin oak style spice, a hint of bourbon.
    • Taste
Coconut sweetness is there, buttery and creamy notes, then the oak spice slips in. Slowly getting grainy and with an element of bitterness entering.
    • Finish
touch of sweetness quickly backed up by bitter oak.
