8 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 86.35 points

  1. WhiskyFan2112 scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

Nice but too oaky for my palate. Actually have had older bourbon that is less oaky than this
    • Nose
      86 86
Cherry, corn, oaky, fresh ground pepper, vanilla extract, a touch of buttermilk biscuits
    • Taste
      85 85
Cherry, oak, vanilla, spices, popcorn butter
    • Finish
      86 86
Cherry, oak tannins, sweet spices, extra buttery popcorn

  2. Dram Dracula scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

Actually a pretty good nose and a decent whiskey, but I just cannot give this anything more than 86 because it lacks anything tertiary and lacks the ooomph that many, many other whiskies can provide. Also a weird, strangely young tasting finish.

  3. EvilAFI scored this whisky 88 points Expert Senior

This bourbon reminds me of a old fashioned with a maraschino cherry. The oak is very present, but the sweetness helps balance it.
    • Nose
      87 87
Sweet oak, vanilla, maraschino cherry, dusty corn, salted caramel
    • Taste
      88 88
      Oak, vanilla, cherry cough syrup,
    • Finish
      89 89
Oily, salty, oak, subtle sweetness (cherries come out noticeable very much here), orange zest

Definitely not a $100+ bottle. Super easy drinking if that floats your boat, the age has removed any alcoholic harshness but is now largely uninspiring.
    • Nose
Classic bourbon spice, a little corn, oak and vanilla
    • Taste
Pretty flat, mono-vanilla-oak, a bit boring. Lost the spice and no nuttiness or additional layers.
    • Finish
      Flat and uninspiring.

  6. GJR scored this whisky 82 points Connoisseur

You rarely encounter 20-year-old bourbon. Frankly, I prefer the younger performances so far. Even though this is just an excellent dram, it still seems to be over its top.
    • Nose
Not overly complex, fairly simple tones matching a bourbon. Reasonably dark or old sweetness of overripe fruit, with a strange unpredictable backtone. In addition, a lot of wood influence with vanillin.
    • Taste
Pleasant, but not very special or very complex. Continues to show a lack of freshness.
    • Finish
Pretty long, with some wood tones (tannin) for a less pleasant bitterness

    Bottler's Tasting Notes:

A soft and elegant nose, reminiscent of warm spice, biscuit and buttercream is cunningly paid off with the mellow taste of roasted grains and charred oak - finishing with pleasing hints of spice and brown sugar.
