Whisky Reviews for Glenlivet 12-year-old
6 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 78.36 points
- Good entry-level malt. Light and easy-drinking.
Floral, fruity (pear), honey, citrus peel notes
A bit spicy, malty, vanilla, apple, butterscotch
Short but pleasant, citrus, pear
- A whisky that you can give some time for better yield of flavors. PLV is correct. I'm definitely positively surprised.
immediately a lot of vanilla with cooling alcohol, behind oak and some caramel, slightly sweet to citrus, subtle smoky, wet leather and Nussigkeit in between clearly the bottom ten, wet slate, marzipan, a touch of yeast, later fresher and flowery with hay, honey Peach juice, gooseberry and physalis, floury apple, strong Galia melon, light nutmeg, malt
Honey sweetness, slightly spicy nutmeg, slightly spiced barley malt, mineral notes with a fine sparkling acidity, vanilla, grapefruit, walnut oil, old oak barrel, distant aromas of salt, sweet sticky orange syrup with dark chocolate, hints of tobacco, creamy
Spicy with hints of pepper, warming, rather dry, some malt, soft toffee, oak, hay, light chocolate bitterness, slate, minimal smoke, buttery, walnut shells
- After years still my reference single malt for rating other whisky's.
Lots of flowery notes. Elderflower. Heather and hay. Fresh fruits (melon and pear). Also apple juice. A touch of marzipan. A little honey as well.
Malty and fruity at the same time. Banana and coconut. Vanilla. Candy-floss. Quite chewy actually.
Medium long. Dryness. Soft spices of pepper and nutmeg. Gingery. Liquoirce at the end.
