Very fruity! Juicy fruit. But also chocolate. You can smell that this whiskey is a bit older. Breakfast cereals in milk. Honey. Oatmeal Porridge. In the distance it has something waxy. Is some coffee beans
    • Taste
      82 82
Velvet soft. No burn at all. Because of this he lacks strength, but it is a nice drinker. Still something that reminds me of a little sherry. Little hay / grass. Also some chocolate. Peach, grapefruit. The nose promised more. Much more.
    • Finish
      82 82
Just too short to be medium length. Tastes evaporate a bit quickly. Little black pepper. Banana. Wood.

Blind tasting, sample provided by Defeatless.
    • Nose
Old and dignified. It's mellow and friendly, full of waxy (beeswax) barley, some vanilla cream, and ample fruit (tinned peach dominate, but there is also pineapple, later also cherries and strawberries). Furthermore, there is a sensible level of grassiness, which makes this whisky fresh. Gets fruitier and sweeter associated by the minute. After a while, white raisins can be detected too. Then there is a faint hint of cinnamon.  It's extremely fruity and friendly, and must be the result of an active cask. A good refill hogshead maybe?
    • Taste
      Less
sweet than expected, with a pleasant dryness. Polished oak, ginger, vanilla
cream, coconut and pineapple. The grass gets louder, together with the pepper.
    • Finish
      Rather
herbal (grass, coriander), with soft barley, white grape seeds and a pinch of
      pepper.

  3. Robinzon25 scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

A venerable, thorough, aging whiskey, with a wealth of experience and self-confidence. The only downside to this whiskey is that it's 40% ABV.
    • Nose
Restrained, with hints of plum, chocolate cream, cupcake, wild flowers, leather and old furniture.
    • Taste
Dried fruits, berry sourness, spices, tannins.
    • Finish
Long, viscous, filled with fruit, berry and chocolate tones, with a strong but noble oak influence, with a hint of cigar and spices at the very end.

I opened it in a set of ten bottles, and even then, because my friend pointed it out to me. What can we say, the grain, unfortunately, remained palpable with accompanying sweetness turning into bitterness. A beautiful box, a beautiful bottle, probably such a whiskey is given by people who choose a design. Knowing its price, it can be compared with other positions of single malt whiskeys. And even if they are younger, the choice is obvious.
    • Nose
      85 85
Raisins, highly dried prunes, dates and ink. Some forest associations, some caramel, which is sold near various attractions.
    • Taste
      85 85
The sweet, familiar profile of this whiskey, it's just that some of the flavors have become more concentrated, with a hint of acid and bitterness that I recognize as ink (why?).
    • Finish
      84 84
Sweet, with a hint of burnt raisins in the muffin that was sticking out from the top and the oven toasted it, short-lived.

Fruity, balanced, not too complex but very drinkable - very good
    • Nose
      91 91
Dried fruits, figs, apricot, honey, little raisins, caramel pears, hints of tobacco, some cooked fruits, bown sugar, spices, little cinnamon, cloves, whiffs of sherry wood, chocolate - really not bad
    • Taste
      90 90
Little punchy, spicy, subtle sweetness, more caramel fruits, pear, apricot, honey, pepper, gingerbread with orange zest
    • Finish
      90 90
Medium long, warm, spicy, zesty, little fruity more oranges

One of the best blend whiskeys I've ever drunk!

The three of us had this bottle on a double birthday.

Very fruity, balanced and rather mild with a nice, subtle oak finish.

    Very round and balanced.

    Excellent!!!

Very fruity. And a lot of honey sweetness. The finish is also something, I call it, more elegant than the previously-tried Johnnie Walker XR21 (WID: 51634) and Johnnie Walker Blue Label (WID: 51152). The Chivas Regal is already quite good but also very pleasing. Overall, but the best of the three blends.
But also here. I prefer to grab a single malt.

Big impression on this 25 years. We recognize quite the 18 years with a little more power, more depth and a nice peaty finish. Qualitatively, the jump is not huge compared to 18, this being said.
    Enthusiasm 3/5

Nose:- Appealing grapefruits and honey, entice with mist of muskiness linger, packed with rich caramel too. Complex and lovely. Palate:- Good weight and elegant, full of flavors and not aggressive,
allowing you the time to taste it. Firm woody character coated with burnt
    honey. Well built and slender.

    Finish:- Velvet, smooth and lengthy.

Delicious but not affordable to have it everyday. :P

It is nice blend certainly but the palate while nice taste wise ia a little thin.
    • Nose
Quite restrained with notes of toffee, white fruits (pear), shoe polish and a few meat notes.
    • Taste
Smooth but there is some noticeable bitterness. I get notes of ginger, dark orange marmalade, a little fudge and then syrup flapjack cake.

The bitter notes subside after a while but it is a little thin on the palate for a supposed 25 year whisky.
    • Finish
      Pretty long and quite pleasant.

  18. Defeatless scored this whisky 86 points Expert Senior

Nose: complex en intruding.Sherried oak, fruity syrup. Not sure how to describe, it's quite a general fruity smell. Some mint leaf. After a while some grain comes in and gives it it's typical grain smell.

Taste: Fruity, sweet and sour. Then a hint of grain and than a bitterness comes in. Some liquorish, wood, harsh from pine-trees. orange marmalade and lemon zest.

    Body: Medium.

Finish: Medium-long. Little dry. Canned fruit juice, hint of orange marmalade. And some banana.

Price: it's a trend to overprice a little more older whisky's, this on is filling the bill.

Presentation: very chique. Interesting not in the book, but you should just read is after tasting.

Getasted in Scotland vacation as part of a grand tasting session with Master Blender of Chivas Regal, Mr. Colin Scott. Successful revival of a blend that had fallen victim to prohibition.
    • Nose
Full-bodied whiskey, dark fruit, dried fruit, chocolate, spicy orange, raisins, sultanas. Strong fruit flavors (orange and peach) followed by delicate marzipan and fine nuts. 44 points
    • Taste
delicately oily, medium viscosity. Light and dubious, traces of milk chocolate, cocoa and oranges. Creamy mouthfeel. Vanilla Tobacco, Spicy. 44 points
    • Finish
Soft, round and medium lasting. Tender smoke and chocolate.
