Tasting Notes: Nose: Very sweet, milk chocolate and caramel, raisins, grapes and the aroma of freshly sawn wood. Immediately enormous Mundwässernd, with almost a little oldstylischem touch. The sweetness pervades the malt from beginning to end, even if harsh orange and grapefruit notes are added soon and prevent the aromas from being overly plump and sugary. Everything is wonderfully fragrant, very clean, with no mistings, honey, marzipan and apricots with time.
Mouth: Strong, the alcohol clearly present, very fruity, citrusy and even slightly salty (licorice). Not as chocolaty as in the fragrance, rather juicy, fresh, gradually with fine bitterness that threatens to replace the fruit, but then caught by oranges, ripe apples, dried fruit and marzipan and pushed into the background. Great mouthfeel, with nice sweetness, really spectacular, if not really elegant.
Finish: Very long, with marzipan, oranges and fine herbs.
Conclusion: Great, strong Glendronach, for PX fans an absolute must! Fans of fine elegance have to look elsewhere! https://whiskycuse.wordpress.com/
