Nose: A harmonious first start with a lot of peat smoke. Clear and fresh, bandage and phenol. Add vanilla and a light sweetness that carries vanilla. The focus remains on the medical character: bandages, phenol and iodine.
Palate: Smoky, light spiciness, vanilla - again a simple and clear line with medicinal notes. There are also light citrus fruits. Creamy mouthfeel.
Finish: Long and warming, sweeter than the palate. The peat smoke holds back discreetly - but remains for a long time.
Conclusion: Similar to younger Port Ellen. Straightforward and typical.
