  1. Tommyknocker scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

an excellent bourbon barrel, great malt. Super matured, without being overpowered by the oak, looks older than he is. I think he is much better. Ronny has chosen!
    • Nose
Pure: Immediately an unmistakable Speyside nose. A full basket of ripe fruits, pear, orange, pineapple. In addition, fruity Roibusch tea with lots of honey. Striking and especially I find the already clearly noticeable floral fragrance, which is otherwise found only at bottlings from 30yo +. Outstanding! The longer he is in the glass, the more flowery and fruity he becomes. With a little water: now comes the bourbon barrel, lots of vanilla, very sweet. I like it better.
    • Taste
Pure: even at the first sip no burning or stinging, very oily texture, here too juicy fruit dominant, blood orange, red apples. Sweet, but not sweet, honey here as well. Then beautiful elegant oak notes, not bitter, slightly spicy. Interesting caraway note follows. With a little water: even sweeter, funnier now a bit sharper. Do not have to be, just better.
    • Finish
long, creamy, soft, oak (the good kind) and chocolate.

    Nose:
Behavior, deep, elegant. Yellow fruit (apples, kumquats) and spicy-herbaceous and malty tones.
With water: fragrant, playful, puff pastry with vanilla cream, white grapes, apples, apricots, geraniums.

    Mouth:
Round, creamy, full-bodied. Some ginger, again yellow fruit (apples, apricot jam), dense. Then comes a clear peppery pungency and oak.
With water: loses some volume, but becomes noticeably more charming and rounder.

    finish:
Yellow-fruity, short-medium-long, oak, slightly sour and bitter behind.
    With water: rounder, more harmonious.

    Conclusion:
Good and with water quite delicious, but not outstanding.
