Hammer Lecker. The best Glenfarclas I ever had in the glass. Most GF's do not really have much to offer me. Almost always the nose is nice, but in the mouth they are very disappointing. Not so. Spicy, sweet, harmonious, exciting, intense - no trace bitter (as usual), no trace too much barrel (to the point !!!), fruity to the end (as never before), no overwhelming aromas, just an incredibly delicious Paint. Exceptionally good.
    • Nose
light smoke, black cherries, fresh raspberry from the bush, leather, tobacco, liquorice, dark chocolate, black currants and leaves of blackcurrant shrub, freshly grated mint, lightly toasted bread, dates, raisins, balsamic sauce, later more and more fresh coffee and Black Forest ham ... very intense, very harmonious, beautiful
    • Taste
oily, creamy, powerful, pepper, cardamom, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg explode tingling on the tongue, a lot of dark chocolate spreads throughout the mouth, which slowly turns into coffee, in between the delicate raspberries, dark cherries, orange wedges and juicy plums go up ... now the malt is "meaty", the balsamic sauce runs over the oxtail ragout in cognac, thyme, rosemary join the fleshy impressions, you want to chew forever ... the blackcurrants are getting more and more intense and pawing harmoniously integrated into the masses of dark chocolate sauce ... pecans in chocolate, plums in chocolate, pieces of orange in chocolate, tobacco leaves swim with ... the licorice emerges from the Schokomeer, the malt becomes a bit drier, the liquorice works in the mouth. Then peach comes up! The complete aroma fragrance breathes out of the nose room with some smoke and the blackcurrants as an accompaniment ... a really hammerleckerer Glenfarclas, the honey-fruity-sweet-spicy remains in the mouth ...
    • Finish
Laaaang, really long, intense, dark fruity, honey sweet, the chocolate covers the mucous membranes, baking cocoa, fine coffee, fragrant intensive spices, the lightly toasted bread is back - could I still have some of the raspberry jelly? ... fine smoke. .. orange juice ... milk coffee ... a hint of green tea ... mild sweetness ... ... then the blackcurrant comes up again and lasts for hours in the nasal cavity ...

"THE" Glenfarclas. Unfortunately only 50ml mini but big cinema :)
One hardly dares to evaluate this bottle, because actually this amount is too little to describe the king. But I have to get rid of this experience.
    • Nose
The nose exceeds my expectation. Great. What barrels !? Baked apple now, but so elegant, unbelievable. After an intense, creamy experience of dark fruits, add a wonderful red peach. Ohh man ... that nose should never end.
    • Taste
The barrels register themselves on the tongue and tingle. Wow effect. Then the palate keeps what the nose promises. Dark fruits, wonderful oak, followed by the best leather. Everything together also results in fantastic espresso notes.
Hello, Effect ...., my first at the age of 40. Wacky.
Thank you Glenfarclas for making these minis out there!
    • Finish
I saddle the elegant horse with the sinfully expensive leather saddle. The panniers are filled with wonderful fruits and lead it slowly and proudly out of the precious wood substructure. This experience deserves recognition every second.
      For this price € 41.90, a masterpiece!

Oily and heavy in the glass, elegant and varied in the nose, a tasty gentleman in the mouth and on the finish a sheer endless memory of the long years of maturation! A Malt to dream!
    • Nose
Heavy, dark sherry, old wood, moldy forest soil, a hint of mint, raisins, good cognac, old balsamic vinegar, plum cake, marzipan, walnuts, Christmas spices, gingerbread !, dark chocolate, leather, behind it also oranges, all changing again and again , only the mint fresh flies and the moldy soil decreases strongly with time, the rest plays an elegant game with my sense of smell and ensures always new impressions! Brilliant!
    • Taste
Astringent, dry, dark chocolate and leather, raisins, oranges, sweet, but not as sweet as the nose, spicy and oily, roasted walnuts, some marzipan, green tea, espresso, which has presence, the mouth fills with saliva and pleasant warmth .
    • Finish
Apparently the Dram leather warms up and the oranges stay for a long time and longer, a felt eternity, a tenderly bitter coffee and teenage remains interspersed with the roasted walnuts and reminds most pleasantly of this extraordinary masterpiece of a whisky!

Nose: Where to start ... Nut cake with marzipan, chocolate, dark sour berries in the form of compote, raisins and an incredibly elegant oak. Sparkling vanilla and delicate / elegant oak flavors with an outstandingly integrated acidity. The nose is without question OLD but incredibly elegant in the range of flavors. Typical old sherry notes such as leather, cigar box and spice are also intense in the drop to find, but in no way musty or unbalanced. Not even the spark of a false note in the glass. In addition to the sherry notes are flavors that make me associate jasmine tea, orange blossom, licorice, orange, mint walnut and slightly bitter almond. The orchestra of flavors is not over. All aroma components are equally present. The sourish component with spicy old fruits that go in the wine direction, as well as herbal tart oak is present. These aromas of sweet and nutty with almost perfume-like aromas, over sour fruity to tender oak aromas go permanently hand in hand and let me smell forever on this drop.
Taste: Amazing sweet as raisins with a tingling acidity, some red grapes and the full broadside of elegant old sherry with tons of roasted aromas. From here I totally fell for the drop. Chocolate, leather, tobacco, roasted walnuts and hare nuts. A spice that is so intense that it can not fully assert itself only because of the other flavor intensity. Oranges and orange peel with mint are also to be found. All flavors stay together for an eternity and deliver a firework of flavors on the tongue. The finish seems endless, hardly bitter and reminds at most of milk coffee or long-brewed jasmine tea. The oak is more herbal tart than coffee-like in the drop available. Slightly cooling with mint, orange peel, chocolate a little vanilla and spicy aromas of the oak.
Conclusion: An absolute masterpiece of whisky. Much more is not to be added.

This old piglet has lived up to my expectations. Old and solid fruit and wood flavors give this Glenfarclas an incredible complexity and richness of facets. The nose is surprisingly fruity and is characterized by an extremely intense peach aroma. A great old Glenfarclas, I like it very much!
    • Nose
Clear and radiant, the Glenfarclas rests in the glass. After pouring on the glass wall tough streaks have formed from which dissolve viscous drops and leisurely seek their way into the glass. Dark and old sherry aromas rise majestically from the glass, in Cognac pickled berries and grapes exude their intense fruit aroma. A touch of sulfur dissolves from old and dried oak elements, the nose becomes increasingly sweet and juicy oranges mix with dark caramel. Overripe apples and a subtle cherry flavor, apricots and peaches follow the apples and cherries. The peach aroma is becoming more intense and ends in a blend of overripe peaches, old oranges and dark caramel. Milk chocolate is added, but at the same time it is covered by the intense fruit mixture. With this intense peach flavor the nose demands the first sip ...
    • Taste
Fresh with a tart oak note the first sip flows over the tongue. Spicy oak elements and a few drops of cognac exude a wonderfully old and solid aroma. Dark oranges and fermented peach give a hint of the fruitiness of the nose. The extreme fruit flavors of the nose, however, are hard to find in the taste, dominated by spicy and tart wood elements. Dark raisins come to light, the taste is now relatively clear and pure, otherwise I can not describe this condition. Subtle nut flavors and a hint of cognac mingle with the old oak tones, slowly setting itself a pleasant and subtle sharpness on the palate and on the tongue. A hint of smoke, tobacco and leather rise from the sharpness, old tobacco leaves entwine the spicy leather.
    • Finish
The finish starts with fine tobacco and leather aromas. The cold smoke and the slightly peppery sharpness are discreetly in the background. Spicy wood elements play with fruity notes. Cognac and old orange slices make the wood aromas appear fruity. For a long time, the finish exudes its tasty flavor and only slowly fades out a perceived eternity later.

you can smell forever, the rest is also close to the ideal of 40 years and sherry ripening. The malt is harmonious, nothing stands out, all expected flavors play together, no oak dominates, no sherry superimposed. Everything fits together wonderfully.
    • Nose
dense and sweet, a lot of oak, almost a little solvent, but the pleasant variant of a lot of wood, sweet sherry, raisins, but rather dried out, slightly dusty and above all this oak note, not overwhelming, omipresent. Over time, it becomes a little sweeter, a subtle fruity freshness is also noticeable, spices, cinnamon, old, but not superimposed, almost perfect.
    • Taste
warm, dense, lively and strong at first, pepper, oak, dried fruits and a lot of dark chocolate.
    • Finish
long, warm, here are the spices, the dark chocolate, the oak, the raisins, the tobacco, everything present, nothing dominates.

We are now talking about 50 euros for this 50ml sample, which corresponds to a large bottle to 700 euros. A great malt to which nothing needs to be said here. However, the price-performance must be taken into account and here I rigorously deduct 2 points, so that receives the Malt of me instead of a 93 "only" a "91". In recent months I have been able to enjoy many malts for 1/3 to 1/2 of this price, which were very close to the GF.

    • Taste
pricklend - sweet, mint meets oak
    • Finish
still in waves - very long.

The forty-year-old Glenfarclas from the 50ml mini is a very pleasant, strong, full, round companion. Great traditional broadband whisky cinema, especially for those who like oak and espresso.
    • Nose
The expectations are of course high. Glenfarclas, tradition, order crowd. The first nose does not disappoint either. A very elegant cognac style rises, the barrels are immediately felt. Then follow the farclastypischen baked apple notes. After a while ripe ripened peach and rhubarb compote appear in a dark fruit torrent.
    • Taste
This old Glenfarclas has a strong first appearance. Sparkling, naturally. And oily. Then again the dark fruits, the oak follows, and now also leather. The cognac style is also coming back. The whole thing is supplemented with espresso notes; In short: the 40 years of storage are now fully present.
    • Finish
A long, oak and leathery finish, in which after a while again announce the fruit in a very beautiful way. Simply voluminous.

Scent: booklet ... as it is written, as one imagines the perfect ripe, sherrys malt whisky scent. My goodness. Complex, but so much so that the list is almost endless. Skin, sherry, chocolate, brown sugar, fried fruits, soft spices, raisins, old woody scents..tale, a real poem. But really, you only smell it for hours. I DIDN'T simply dare to fall into it. To embrace something of divine perfection as a mortal on earth? Okay, so of course I will.

Taste: citrus, serious spice, honey, pollens. It's sweet and sour at the same time. At 46% it is soft, silky, perfectly ripe, tasty malt, with a masterful balance.
A great whisky experience. It shows the miracle only time can do. Masterpiece.
