It went downhill from the nose, then the palate, then the finish.
Yes, there's wood at the back, sandalwood, and sweet honey. I.e. the usual. But there's also something rather...fleshy. No, not body odor, fleshy in a good way, rather bodily, and seductive.
Over time becomes floral, fragrant, and a bit soapy. Ah...ha a warm body after a good shower. Totally unexpected! Rather fascinating.
Of course, there's also vanilla, brown sugar... the staple.
Oaky bitterness, with a kick despite of the age and only 43% ABV. Dry. Yes, quite dry. If this is what the box said "crispness from the sea", um...not exactly.
Maybe let the liquid oxidize a bit in the botte to see what would happen...
