  1. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

I like it, yummy, tasty, down-to-earth, has character and recognition value, for 40% and only 18 € a positive surprise.
    • Nose
Caramel, malt, cereals, as well as what sour-fruity, orange / tangerine and a hint of silage ("country air"), and a corner of dirty smoke could be there ... soft, but for 40% quite intense, has character
    • Taste
soft and creamy, caramel and malt, after a while in the mouth a bit drier and spicy, nutty and slightly bitter
    • Finish
medium long, well spicy (bit of pepper), walnut and a hint of sugar beet syrup

Newly edited by Richard Paterson, Master Blender of Whyte & Mackay.
My tip: no water! Otherwise, a wonderful little blend for the friends of the gentle.
    • Nose
Mild & malty, with a clear sherry tone. A few ripe fruits, a smoky flag. The grain whiskey comes through, if you give it time. Lose considerably with water. Almost nothing in the nose. You should let it rest a bit, then the Grain peeps through. Fruits can be glimpsed rather than smell.
    • Taste
Soft creamy mouthfeel. Some malt, tiny bitter notes and a hint of chestnut peel. Water gets an initial sharpness on the tongue, otherwise uninteresting as the nose with water: almost nonexistent. Just some malt & dusty grainy notes can be seen.
    • Finish
Malt and savory seasoning can be found in the finish. Then follows a grainige sweetness, something flourish comes out. Water is good for the finish. Syrup-like sweetness with a small herbaceous impact, then a small dryness.

"Soft as a pig´s nose", how true is the slogan on this bottle! Silky, smooth little whisky, cheap in price but not when it comes to taste! Thumbs up - would definitely buy it again.

A fine, funky, little blend, better then most. Light, creamy, with a hint of orange and magic marker (in a good child hood memory way). I like their style and I like supporting the "little" guy.

(note: these are "blend"marks, and not comparable to single malts)

For the age and the price you can not say anything.
    • Nose
Malty mild spicy. Caramel candy. When he is swayed, he gives a touch of tangerine.
    • Taste
Vanilla and malt. Creme brulee. Slightly woody note. Overall, a bit thin.
    • Finish
Short. Where did he go? He was gone so fast, you can not keep up with the tasting.

  9. rottendon scored this whisky 75 points Connoisseur

Round, without corners and edges. Very soft. In the price / performance ratio unbeatable.
    • Nose
First a puff of malt, then vanilla and slightly sour, fresh fruit notes appear. Warms up more vigorous, especially more malt.
    • Taste
Very creamy and mild. Honey, vanilla and a little cereal. A little powerless.
    • Finish
Short. A light honey / sugar water note fades and leaves room for an equally light, youthful bitterness. Not really disturbing. Reminiscent of tea.
