Forty Creek produces my favourite Canadian whiskey, though I am not much of a fan of Canadian whiskey overall. This is my favourite of the Forty Creek range. The rye is expertly integrated, for those who enjoy a more subtle and floral rye flavour. As an experiment I just blended this with a 25 year old Port Dundas. What a massive improvement! I always said my favourite Canadian whiskies were aged Scottish grains....
-
Light rye notes, maple syrup, bread, slight floral notes. A sweet nose overall.
-
Sweet and bitter arrival. Soft and smooth on the palate. Soft rye and corn, maple syrup, and oak.
-
Sweet and bitter finish. The sweet dissipates rapidly for a medium slightly bitter, warming finish.
