    N-
With a much desirable 3% higher on strength compared to the current
bottling, also comes with higher quality on aroma. Gorgeous and mouth
watering young mango, peach, soft sweet peat and incense wood. Evolving
and bold, as well coal, butter and some plasticine leather.

P- Gentle, great depth with perfect weight, layers of floral vanilla, dried fruits and soft spices.

F- Long, velvet with gentle pace, echoing and drying out with subtle black smokes rising at a distant.

    — at The Whisky Bar, Kuala Lumpur.

I think the older versions are better than the new ones so not sure what has changed but I suppose JW run out of aged stocks just like everyone else.?

I love the general bottle design of JW, the Blue label in my view is given a hard time by some punters but I still like it for what it is, a refined quality blend.

A very nice blend. A bit soft and delicate, without many edges. Obviously good, but obviously not worth the sticker price.
    • Nose
Soft nose. Honey, malt, subtle smoke, soft oak.
    • Taste
Soft with a subtle sweet arrival. Honey, smoke, and light spice.
    • Finish
Very soft and deft. Light wisp of smoke that fades to sweet spice. Long finish.

I did not expect anything, but I was then surprised with a noticeable quality, especially in the nose. Too bad that there are noticeable bitterness notes - without and with 3% more he would be me probably. a bottle worth it has something.
    • Nose
fine spicy, slightly sweet complex oak, hints of smoke, roasted cereal, malt, mint, buttery-oily-creamy Citrus aromas of the ripe irresistible kind - which turns into floral scent, a little green tea, ripe red apples, raisins, tobacco spice - jasmine flowers , Mango puree, peaches, ripe pineapple - the longer it is in the glass, the more beautiful the flower nectar notes become.
    • Taste
It starts dry - then it becomes spicy with a lot of oak and tobacco until it covers the entire tongue in a slight bitter note with many herbs (reminds me strongly of Ben Nevis). Everything is on the move, the bitterness disappears and makes room for a slightly sweet spice of lively, sparkling wine. Lots of oak, a bit of mushroom-traded old cellar flooring, tobacco a hint of old leather - very very powerful spice for 43% - with the second sip, a strong chocolate note spreads, plus rum raisins, espresso, hazelnut cream
    • Finish
Nutty, dry, fruity, warming, woody a bit bitter

At my first attempt I was really sad, that I bought a bottle (1l) for 140 Euros, because for me it´s no better than a few whiskies like Dalwhinnie 15yo for abour 40 Euros.

Now, whithout thinking of the Price I start to like it. - It´s solid Quality. I especially like the peat smoke combined with the maltiness and the oak spices in the aftertaste.

And finally I added a Little Caol Ila 25 and than it was a really nice dram for me.

Nicely balanced from start to finish. I enjoyed the palate more than I did the nose. Especially the subtle peat was welcomed.
    • Nose
Very pedestrian. Some spices, cereals and honey. Stewed apples. Fairly sweet indeed, with a hint of smoke in the background.
    • Taste
Oaky with lots of tannins, but I don't mind that. Nice body. A layer of subtle peat. Sweet (honey, vanilla) and spicy (cloves, cinnamon).
    • Finish
Lingering peat and spices. Medium in length.
