Very tasty Bourbon-Chichi with a bit too much alcohol for my taste, but there is water for testing there.
    • Nose
You can clearly see the bourbon base, but also Mizu influence, unfortunately also a lot of alcohol piercing, behind it a lot of vanilla, light raisins, shortbread, wood chips fresh, pear, vineyard peach, the white gummy, white tea, roses, ginger, light honey
    • Taste
Like the nose, lots of bourbon as the main part, vanilla, marzipan, here a little sharper, instead of the alcoholic strength rather ginger, white pepper, turmeric, camphor, hints of mint, flower meadow, pear, white peach
    • Finish
Ginger continues, white grapefruit, green apple, vanilla, medium length

    All rounded and balanced

Fruity, sweet and vegetative. flowery and perfume like. Caramel coated apples.
    • Taste
      89 89
Lemon glazed hot cross buns. Sweet, tangy, sour, wholesome and full bodied.
Coriander, chives, soy sauce, fish oil.
Minty fresh and corn like flavors infused into a freshly baked brioche bun. Slap butter over that bad boy.
    • Finish
      88 88
Similar finishing to the body of st germain liquor. Able bodied, deep and flowery.

The On the Way 2013 is a very tasty, good, well-balanced whisky.
It tastes and smells almost identical to the 13x more expensive TMC that everyone spiders on, and which is way too expensive. It stops there, dream cask on it, and not on the way. Can only shake your head, which is what 3 words do. Of course he has a nice label, but it's not like a Picasso either. I'd rather drink 13 bottles of On the Way than a TMC (Bar Lemonhart). for the same price. And yes, I've already had the TMC. The 2013 is not a comparison with the 2015er, which is far from the 2013er approach. Have just bought 4 bottles again. Reserve for the future. Little water, wonderful.

On the nose, very powerful in vanilla and caramel, very "bourbonesque" in the soul. On the palate, a rare combination of chocolate and fresh fruit. Generous in spices. Woody finish, delicate, with coffee. With a little water reveal floral notes on the nose (perhaps from Japanese oak barrels). No trace of youth in this whisky extremely well done and tasty! Enthusiasm 4/5

Another great mole from the land of the rising sun, a wonderful aroma, a small dip in taste, but overall very pleasant and deep, good work with the fortress, I will not say that it is not felt, but it is easy to drink.
    • Nose
Warm, open, confectionery motifs - custard, shortbread, glaze, sweet vanilla; then there are spicy-woody notes - carpentry workshop, varnish, solvent, resin, hot wood dust; a bit of mineral tones - wet grindstone, stone dust, wet rubble; broken young branches, the smell of a young bark, wet metal, after a while the raisins are clearly manifested and confectionery flavors are returned.
    • Taste
A sharp, gradually softening, ginger-peppery wave, soft spicy oak, raisins - is rich and powerful, but very ascetic and sparse in terms of the variety of constituents and halftones.
    • Finish
Oak-pastry with a dense substrate of ginger, grapefruit peel, apple pastille; dried apples, dried pears, light fruit sour, vanilla.

Very fierce and fruity, with a nice minty edge to it. Some small sediment (cask sediment?) in the sample. Tasted 18/10/2016 in a line-up of three Chichibu samples.
    • Nose
Sweet and fruity! Flower blossoms (could that be the Japanese cherry blossom?). Caramel (Werther's Echte butterscotch candy) going towards Haagse Hopjes. Malty as well. Pine tree bark on the background.
    • Taste
Waxy mouthfeel, a bomb of fresh fruitiness (apple, pear), dried apricot/peach and a tad drying spiciness. Hint of mint.
    • Finish
Bit astringent (probably due to the high ABV); prickly at the bottom front sides of the mouth (besides the tongue), and at the sides of the tongue itself. Mint again and it keeps lingering.

A good, interesting Chichibu! One should not take too much water, less than other whiskys with this strength. Then it reminds refreshingly of apricots and melons. A very good, fruity whisky, very tasty and clearly better than the 2015er. The fewer bottles I have of that, the more I think that's great. On new German . That's good, man, little water, better. Have melons and marionelles or so beautiful name as Geschmakk, better than the Schnorre full of wasps, abr nix drink too much, dan no mer good. At kozze schmekke all the same.

Eye: Golden Nose: A rustic nose, both fruity and floral, young whisky very well done. The upstream work done by Ichiro pays and it feels. Honey, chamomile and linden make all this sing. Fruit from the orchard, lemons, yuzu, and peaches are waiting for you. Like an empty tobacco box with a fruit cake. Recall the spring and youth of these very old Speyside whiskys that we love: Convalmore, Banff ... Palate: In the heart. It is intoxicating because it is light but with a lot of character. The distillate and malt are very clear, with notes of mint, lime and some basil, but we are far from Havana Club Mojito. A little something of an agricultural rum that must come from this mixture of bitterness and sugar. Final: Long enough. On sweet notes, mint and lime again. It's pretty funny.
