NOSE: Sweet, fruity malt and bourbon barrel notes; Barley sugar, light treacle, honey, butter, vanilla, dried banana, hint of fresh banana, sweet almonds, coconut, sweet wood, a little sawdust. Really nice! (88p)
TASTE: The arrival is rather sweet, viscous and nice. The mid palate is less interesting; there is more sweet bourbon wood and less fruitiness. Cinnamon. With a few drops of water it opens up and becomes a bit more complex, with more but not stronger spices (85 p)
FINISH: The finish is also a bit woody, with old wood notes, furniture polish, cinnamon and some black pepper. Rather long. (85 p)
TOTAL SCORE 85 points.

4.0 out of 5 stars
Intense and very fruity nose with lots of tangerine, then smoke and pecan and brazil nuts. Pouring it in a large tulip shaped (red wine) helped very much in catching the full richness of the nose.
Taste: Medium rich, nicely balanced. In the mouth initially less fruity than on the nose, but a week after opening the fruit unfolds here too, with apples and oranges. Vanilla, hints of maple suryp (but not sweet) and towards the end come spice, smoke and some iodine.
Very nice whisky for the price.
