    Mahogany pour.  Nose is Christmas fruit cake, raisin liqueur, pine forest, light ash and smoke, some old smokey peat.  Reminds me a bit of an aged Highland Park.  Mouth is quite savory, more smoked hams, star anise, some Vietnamese pho spices going on.  Stewed peaches, perhaps.  And of course more fruit cake (heavy English style), raisin liqueur.  Flavor is more interesting than the nose in this case because there's more savory things going on.  Texture is pretty thin, finish pleasantly hot and on stewed fruits and liqueurs.  I like it better than the Highland Park that I would compare it with.

    Producer`s tasting notes:

    Colour: Aged polished cherry woodNose: Bursting with Muscovado, over-stewed prunes and plum sauce warmed with distant red chilli spice

    Palate: Dark chocolate fondant and rich Seville orange marmalade are warmed by gentle white pepper spice which leads to the gentle sweet finish of rum raisin fudge
