A honeycomb in my Glencairn
Fantastic dram !
- Got another sample of this, while I can, a really good bottling this.
- WITH WATER
It really changes with water and its very smooth on pineapple and candied sweets. The more water you add the sweeter it gets.
When watered down it reminds me a little of the Scapa 16 year OB but sweeter.
An excellent young cask strength Clynelish, with water its just about perfect.
Just so easy to drink.
Substantial, chewy, sill on orange, lemon, honey. It tastes much older and its sweet and smells like old furniture (well polished wood with beeswax).
Long on bittersweet notes.
- Awesome on the nose. Excellent whisky. Too complex to unravel on a single occasion.
Spicy, leather, Brown sugar, fresh, aromatic oak, fruits, exotic fruits, nuts (hazelnut or maybe walnut)
Full-bodied, creamy, nuts, dark chocolate, complex, ginger
Long and smooth
- This is a fantastic dram with incredible depth and complexity. Unfortunately, not easy to find anymore.
On the nose, cereal, barley sugar, spices and some distant oil paint. Water addition brings out leather, brown sugar, exotic fruits, mixed nuts and brown butter. After 10-15 minutes dark roasted coffey beans appear.
Initially warm and spicy with a creamy mouth feel, pine apples, black pepper, pecan nuts and ginger.
The finish is long and warming with bitter chocolate, mild pepper and sweet fruit puree followed by a second wave of milder dark chocolate.
- This has a MaltManiac rating of 91 btw.
