Nose: At the beginning green aromas carried by herbs and lemon balm. Stale lemon juice with a musty undertone and slightly malty character. Wood and smoky-maritime peat round off the nose.
Taste: Thin-sweet-strong! The sweetness then slides over a delicate perfume note and leaves plenty of room for the salty lemon, which is in the clutches of green, fresh notes with a bitter undertone. Memories of stale "Fanta" with smoky ashes come to mind.
Finish: Pretty long, but getting more and more bitter. An alternating bath of "sweet and tart" with a smoky undertone until the end! Stale, peaty water with sugar and ashes.
    83 points (nose: 85 / taste: 83 / finish: 82)

To produce something like this has to be the reason that Bowmore exists.
This is simply one of the best whiskies that I have ever had. The sad
thing is it is gone now. Only 162 bottles distributed amongst a lot of
shops means that you're lucky if you can find one. But do try! And if
you find two, please let me know.
    • Nose
Whoof! The strength is intoxicating even on the nose. The Carbolic and
Tar are in your face. Wildly peaty and yet strangely fresh. Seems like
there some Linseed oil there. And porridge. Wonderful! I could sniff
this for days. A spot of water makes it yeasty and husky. More water
brings out a hint of cooked fruit.
    • Taste
Wow! It crashes onto your palate and blows up on your taste buds. Ah,
and the peat. There's nothing soft about this. Its sharp and the attack
is wonderful. Water brings out earth and hemp. More water brings out the
      new wood. Spicy and resinous.
    • Finish
Salt and seaweed. It almost forms crystals on your tongue. Then there's
dried tea and tobacco ash. Sounds disgusting? Well its not. Its just
brilliant. A spot of water causes it to sizzle as if someone were frying
sausages on your tongue. More water softens it and leaves you chewing.
