Perfect timing, perfect age. Very drinkable, beautifully made. Sadly like the kind of flowers that wither a bit too soon.

It started with lot of yellow peach aroma, and ripe Williams pears, followed by apricot. The little peanut oil gives the fresh lime zest something solid to anchor to. Bergamot stood out at a later stage. Then buttery. With time, brown sugar appeared. Very nice indeed. Like a fair lady in her best years, still glowing, but became subtle and elegant.

Sweetened lime juice, mouth-watering, round, smooth and mellow. Brilliant! Almond flavour added to the fun. Very drinkable, but a little too much bitterness to my liking.

At 50% ABV it's about right, allowed the different favours to linger. But it's a bit short overall.

    'Rather One Sided'

N: initial impression is 'aaahh'. Soft barley, faint orange, lemon vanilla, custard cream, vanilla ice cream, lemonade. At 18yo, this malt displays less of the flaky often floury malt notes of younger Glen Grants. Age has brought maturity with vibrancy and a more refined clarity.
T: Big arrival - limey, soapy citrus sharpness softening all the time although still on the citrus side with wood bitters , not much happening….chewing…… now some buttery bourbon malt sugars fight through the wood
F: limey, wood spice and sugar sweet malt all too quiet, finishing with fresh mint, aniseed and bitter lemon with a touch of tart custard.
C: Im always up for a challenge but I so wanted the dessert nose to manifest on the palate. A little too much sour wood for my liking, rather one sided.

    Scores a B-
