Sweet raisins, apricots, honey and toffee appear first in front of my nose and bring along an old leather sandal in tow. After a few minutes wet grass and oak show up. Only when I stretch my nose almost to the bottom of the glass and really take a deep breath, the alcohol shows up, which seems very well integrated.

The Clynelish pops a nose after the nose completely surprising first powerful fruit, spices and minerals on the tongue. I expected something much smarter than that. Pepper, lemongrass, wet gravel combined with honey, daisies, bitter orange marmalade and tangerines - to dry properly. Wild mess on the tongue and definitely a sherry keg in the game, but far from the typical sherry finish.

Long and spicy with dark chocolate and oak, as dry as dust on the tongue. Amazingly little sweetie.
