- I'd rate the price 67, because it's about the price at this moment.
Lemon, melon, peach, pear, brown sugar and honey
Lemon, melon, beewax, cotton candy and some oak
Long, citrus, waxy and sweet.
- Tasted during a blind tasting competition in June 2015.
Sinaasappelig, vanille, hooi/gras. "Cremige" geur ("dikke whisky"). Op achtergrond ook iets houtigs.
Kruidig, vanille, ontzettend romige textuur. Gaat van sinaasappel/citrus via rood fruit over naar zoet (anijs met een beetje snoepkralen-zoetheid).
Lange finish waarin zoetheid verder naar voren komt (sherry-invloeden?).
- Blind tasting of a sample.
Fig, apple beignet with caster sugar, straw, caramel, vanilla and pepper. With water more fruitiness: Mango and pineapple. Quite oily.
Caramel, hay, pepper and fig. Again mango when adding water.
Fig, caramel, straw, pepper, mango and a whiff of smoke. Musty old almonds in the end.
- Promising nose, but
this malt does not deliver on that promise on the palate nor the finish. Keep
The nose is soft and
sweet on mostly raisins, those small dried ones that come in a carton box that
you put in your kid’s lunchbox. Then some caramel and a hint of brown sugar,
the Graeffe. A slice of white bread. Semoule. Hint of pineapple, sprinkled with
syrup. Very nice. Adding water put the emphasis on the bread, though.
It is powerful and
spicy on the palate, but honeysweet. Next to the raisins, I now get more
pineapple and candied peach. The spices include liquorice, pepper and cloves.
Adding water makes it fall apart somewhat, so this is no swimmer.
The finish is fairly
long, but offers nothing new.
