Whisky Reviews for Glen Elgin 1995 HMcD

  1. hartist scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

A pretty Glen Elgin at a very realistic price for a 17 year old.
    • Nose
Fresh, without a trace of aggression despite a high degree of alcohol, all vegetable scents (leaves, flowers) with a little heather honey, sweet malt and some fruit from the orchard.
    • Taste
The palate is powerful and quite complex, with a spicy attack and a fleeting touch polish and varnish. Then balanced notes that reflect the themes evoked on the nose: vegetables, sweet malt, white fruits; all with a certain bitterness but well controlled.
    • Finish
Rather long, full and hot, on a harmonious game of sweet-bitter flavors. The retro-olfaction of the glass takes us to a tray of geraniums.
