  1. FritzeKrautman scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

Again a rather closed nose at the beginning, which then slowly opens up and becomes more fruity. The palate is not particularly exciting. The alcohol is not optimally integrated, the finish is similar to other Lochsides, but is rather weak overall.
    • Nose
      86 86
Tobacco, Vanilla, Gasoline, Clove, Plum, Citrus, Malt
    • Taste
      82 82
Quite aggressive, vanilla, pepper, light fruits, bitterness,
    • Finish
      84 84
Almost medium length finish. Short soap, slightly bitter, oak, mouth-drying, alcohol again only moderately integrated.

  2. LiquidThoughts scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Very nice lochside, extremely aromatic and ripe for the 14 years, which at the same time leave him on the verge of notes that would be critical for some, like the furniture polish in the nose and a hint of alcohol in the mouth. But with the special grades and power, I personally like it a lot.
    • Nose
Lochside sometimes has interesting noses of its own ... reminiscent of many young Japanese, Miyagikyo? Young pear and quince, very special herbal honey note, tarragon and cumin, sage, falernum, agricole rhum and cinnamon and marzipan, candied ginger, if you go very deep, some furniture polish, some green apple
    • Taste
Sweet start, light honey, green apple, net melon, quince, litchi, star fruit, ginger, camphor, sage and eucalyptus, parts of the Rhum Agricole are still there, nice note, pear, tarragon and light oak, coconut chips
    • Finish
Green apple, pear, ginger, camphor, subtle malt, medium length, marzipan

  3. sagara-kun scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

The slightly green exoticism on the nose, is almost perfect on the palate, and finally ripe on the finish.
Very nice evolution and very good Lochside. Surprising because I think it is one of the youngest Lochside I have tasted.
    • Nose
      87 87
Rather delicate nose, on green pineapple and guava.
Granny Smith apple, light sugar cane.
      Black pepper, light ginger.
      It's pretty green.
    • Taste
      89 89
In the mouth it is always soft, and well integrated.
We are on green apple (Granny Smith always), vanilla, a little white chocolate.
Always pineapple, guava, papaya. Lemon, lime.
      White pepper.
    • Finish
      90 90
Long and suave finish, on vanilla, exoticism, apple and pepper.

    • Nose
      90 90
Tropical fruits: pineapple, mango, guave, some pear and obvious citrusfruits. Also a little honey and a mild greenish note. No sharp edges whatsoever.
    • Taste
      91 91
Very soft tasting and juicy with again all kinds of the aforementioned tropical fruitiness and citrus. Probably best qualified with a term I don't use very often, but is definitely in it's place here: smooth!
    • Finish
      90 90
Pretty long: juicy and syrupy with a clear lingering fruitiness.
