Unexpectedly delicate in aroma (significantly different from the standard 10 and Uigeadail). Degree organically enhances the taste and aftertaste, adding pressure.
    • Nose
Delicate, soot, minerality, wine notes, wax, plasticine, sweet pastries, gutalin, main (long cooled and moist), raisins, juicy compote, tart minerality, dust and cardboard, a little acetone, apples and winter pear, a little rubber, bubblegum , walnuts, new leather, shoe sole, tarpaulin, dark chocolate, "Cherry on cognac" candies, peat, milk iris.
    • Taste
Sour berries, pepper, dessert, slightly sweet gum, smoky-ash, sweet and sour sauce for meat, citrus.
    • Finish
Smoky, peppery, dry, quite long, tingling, dessert, wax-oak, a little bitterness gives a sediment.

Nothing less than spectacular. The seaweed peat (in contrast to the more smokey/ash peat of the newer bottlings) is stunning. It's strong and bold as I expect Corryvreckan to be. Crushed seashells, remains of woody camp fires on a salty beach and a meaty layer of smoke complete the pallet. Absolutely unparalleled. This expression remains one of my favorites.

[August, 2014] Together with friends I emptied a bottle that I bought for 59 Euro in February, 2014.

    In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50 - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 87,5. I took no notes.

    Superb version
    • Nose
Peat, earth, lemon, oil, brine, green olive and iodine
    • Taste
fat, unctuous, almost buttery ... Iodized notes, peaty. Lemon and orange zest
    • Finish
Endless and fat. Smoke, pastilles / candies with medicinal plants, a little orange
