- a drop of water opens it up beautiful - ;)
- A profile that was missing in my bar. He goes off the beaten track, and the influence of rum brings his good sides without the bad ones (in my eyes)
A nose well imbued with rum scents. All the better, it's the nose I love in brown rum (and not the mouth that I find too sweet).
Cane sugar, floral freshness. After aeration, a little dusty wood.
This mouth is the missing link between the virgin oak profile and the sherry profile. A little wood, yellow fruit compote, sweet sweetness (the leg of rum, without being too much?), Some spicy spices.
Final quite short. The dusty and sweet wood resurfaced, giving an antique side as a last impression.
- Full and fruity nose, with plenty of citrus fruits and orchard fruits in evidence alongside toffee and vanilla and a touch of woody oak. The rum cask doesn`t seem to have left as much of an influence as other rum cask whiskies I`ve tried (e.g. Balvenie). Fruity and sweet on the palate, but also fairly mellow. Long, warming finish with hints of icing sugar at the very end. A most enjoyable, very easy to drink whisky.
