A lot of barrel, easy to savor. 87 points.
In the first nose racy, especially pear and real vanilla, lightly "wooded", then quickly darkens to baked apples, custard, brown bread, overripe bananas, toasted almonds. With water: even darker, polished wood, fir honey.
With water: it tolerates milk coffee, more polished wood, dark chocolate, malt beer. Sometimes has something resinous, plus straw, old books. It tastes mostly like barrel, is thick and oily in the mouth.
Long. Malt beer, tree sap, musty cellar. Some vanilla, cardamom, brown bread. A little too dry towards the end.
