    Gold in the color.
Small beads on the edge of the glass.

    Moist wood.
    A light sweetie.
Fruity. Almost like an old pear.
    One smells the alcohol strength.

    Oily in the mouth.
    Violent start.
Strong, spicy, my mouth is burning ... but I enjoy it.
    Juniper, carnation, furry sloe.

    Pretty long finish.
    Overall ok.
The nose is much better ...

I also like single malts from the bourbon barrel and this is a pretty good example of why.
    • Nose
You can tell immediately that you have a bourbon barrel whisky in the glass. Vanilla and sweetness. Pineapple and yellow apple. Fresh and sweet nose. From time to time the alcohol is easily felt. Remove some oak flavor With water even sweeter and without the alcoholic sting.
    • Taste
Only prickling. Then sweetie, caramel. The yellow apple is more compote now. Then it tickles again and the salivation begins. Citrus fruit. Now it is spicy and the oak makes something noticeable.
    • Finish
Vanilla. Getting a little drier. Light oak but no bitterness.

    I like it
    • Nose
At first, some glue that disappears quickly. Vanilla - effervescent coconut
    • Taste
some alcoholic - then dry - coconut milk Interplay between sweet and dry
    • Finish
medium long in the end something artificial.

  4. EinSpatzUnterVielen scored this whisky 81 points Expert Senior

Strong pepper, strong metallic - not mine
    • Nose
very alcoholic, stingy, unpleasant - apple, pear, vanilla, honey, almonds, coconut
after a while: freshly cut tomato branches
    • Taste
strong peppery, metallic, sweet and spicy, some apple + pear, almonds, marzipan, dark chocolate

with water: more pepper, more pear, more metallic
    • Finish
strong metallic, sweet-peppery, spicy, coffee, slightly bitter ... in the end this artificial coconut sweetness again

Blind tasting: Very nice nose, in the taste then not so great, but good, but the sharpness makes quite a bit of trouble, in order to get the wegzubekommen, he would mercilessly drown. (Swallowing -> inhale quickly -> coughing stimulus ;-))
    • Nose
At the first sniff he reminds me of some of the 20-year-old SV-Bourboncask-Speysider, fresh, fruity, vanilla ... then sweeter, stronger (but somehow not quite like bar strength), Toffifee, Orangeat, dried apricot, a bit What honey / mead, cinnamon-spicy, gentle pungency ... smells of Sauternes barrel
    • Taste
spicy, too spicy (but barrel strength?), nougat to walnut behind, cocoa, but that's no fun, water to it, a few minimal sips it needs, the sharpness is already quite feverish, then I have gummi orange, milk chocolate, cinnamon again Honey ... so'n touch of Southern Comfort with pepper
    • Finish
also diluted still enough sharpness, quite hot and dry, behind a bitter chocolate / cocoa shadow

  7. Okto-Bull scored this whisky 75 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
Muff. Then something artificial, everything superimposed. I'm not really clear. or can not describe it.
    • Taste
with water) lemon and pear. Then a slightly bitter note. Balsa.
    • Finish
Very sprightly and bitter. Add to that a sour note.

  8. pianoman scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
Overripe banana, some vanilla, solvents. Butter biscuits, grass, light honey, summer flowers.
    • Taste
Banana chips, sweet honey, light grapes. White chocolate, almonds.

  9. Segens scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

Great finish and a great daily dram which is definitely more than worth its former price (70€).

    Well chosen Cutty!
