Whisky Reviews for Edradour 2006

3 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 87.21 points

  1. Calmar scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Young and powerful, bright and interesting, the aroma is not as developed as we would like, the taste and aftertaste also have not yet been revealed, but already in this form very, very well, there is a sense of integrity and own character, a bright personality. Excellent pitkost, excellent work with high strength, lack of spirituousness, it remains only to regret at such a potential for a short period of aging.
    • Nose
Dense, moist, raisin in large quantities, moist, sweet, slightly moldy, wood, wet wood dust, notes of carpentry in the background,
    • Taste
Pepper burning, sweetness, raisins, lots of raisins, wood bitterness, dried fruits, cream, boiled condensed milk, toffee.
    • Finish
Warming, powerful, raisin water, dried fruit compote, light oak bitterness, confectionery sweetness - sugar icing, sweet biscuits, a bit of citrus in the background.

  3. ThS did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

Tasting notes by Billy A from the TWE's team:Nose:
Coco Shreddies, fruit leather, brown sugar and brown toast. Lots of
cereal notes, with roasted grains and crushed barley the predominant
note. Some darker leathery notes sit behind that, with polished boots
    and fresh turned earth.
Palate: Fresher than suggested by the nose, with
sweetness and spice - spiced fruit cake, black liquorice, demerara
syrup, caraway and rum soaked raisins. The grain from the nose is still
here, but less intense, with unsweetened flapjacks and oatcakes sitting
under the sweetness from the sherry casks.
Finish: Liquorice, raisins and old wood, with some tingling spice and lingering green leaves.
Comment: A much sweeter whisky than the nose
suggests, with some fresh and youthful notes balancing some of the older
wood imparted by the oloroso cask. Great fruit, spice and weight, with
darker flavours providing support for the lighter, more fragrant notes.
