This relatively young whisky was a real nice surprise. It is different. It is tasteful. Naturally presented. And for a friendly price. One word springs in mind: buy!
    • Nose
      86 86
Nice aromatic wood. Vanilla. Sweet perfume. Fresh citrus fruit. Savoury fresh herbs.
With water the nose is sweeter, softer, more balanced.
    • Taste
      85 85
Hot alcohol arrival. Bitter development of fresh grapefruit. Dry. Dried savoury herbs.
With water the arrival is sweet and bitter. And short. The development takes over from a dry bitter into juicy fresh citrus fruits of all sorts.
    • Finish
      84 84
A citrussy finish with dry savoury herbs in the end.

A simple wood-vanilla malt, with hints of lemon candy, honey, dough and vanilla baking in the aroma, a taste that repeats the aroma with a dominant vanilla and wood tones, and a simple malt-vanilla finish.
A sort of simple tasty “vanilla”, on this malt you can teach the theory of what vanilla means in single malt scotch tapes.

It’s a proper, decently fruity, light single malt that works on most occasions.
    • Nose
Light and spirit forward with fruits like mush banana, green grapes and a touch of mango, but also a fair amount of vanilla custard.
    • Taste
Sweet vanilla arrival and barley sugar with a spicy follow-up. Slightly peppery and a touch of chalk also. Finally a whiff of straw.
    • Finish
More of the same. Short to medium in length.

    Color: Straw gold.
    ABV: 46%.

Nose: Spirituous, bright. Freshly cut grass, sour dried fruits, a piece of wood, an oak barrel, a lemon with sugar. [n20]

Taste: Bright, sweet. Pear, apple, lemon is gone (sorry). Pepper and spices. [t17]

Finish: long, simple. Sweetness, vanilla, cereals. Somewhere far is milk chocolate. [f18]

Balance: Not a bad drink, which seemed to me to be excessively aggressive. Maybe because of the heat, maybe because of what else. Very interestingly decorated with vanilla. It seems banal sugar, then manifests itself. A good sour lemon in a scent that, to disappointment, completely disappears in taste. Freshness I would like more, with such a flavor, which more or less draws this drink. A bottle would not take. [b19]

A nice surprise: it's a light but very lively fresh summer dram with a fruity finish.

This is really a good, clean and well defined 10 year old. The nose is tangy with a distinct vanilla note and an astringent suggestion of overripe peach. The taste is floral and sweet with some bourbon cask influence impinging on the tastebuds. The finish is medium long and spicy with a hint of sherry in the background. Overall, a well balanced expression well inside daily dram territory.

The whisky does what it says on the tin! For a really very fair price you get an honest standard whisky from the Highlands with aromas of sweet vanilla, light fruit, citrus and spice but without a lot of frills. The 46% suit him well and skillfully push the flavors, which appear very balanced. Glencadam should therefore be seen or tried out! For me an insider tip and only a question of time that the distillery will be given more respect in the scene.
    • Nose
Light fruits that have been poured with a warm vanilla sauce. The fruits are dominated by pears and tangy grapes. A subtle spiciness and a little grass are added and an aroma slowly spreads in the glass, which reminds me of a lemon sorbet.
    • Taste
Creamy and soft! The light fruits are present and are now supplemented with a light spice, sweet honey aromas, vanilla, some grain and refreshing citrus zest.
    • Finish
Soft and now getting a bit tart, because the oak spice increases. Here, too, I have the honey and the light-colored fruit, which linger, while the citrus aroma takes a back seat and is more like a grapefruit.
