good feeling, good aromas, sherry on the lookout!
    • Nose
caramel, spices, ripe fruit on grapes, blueberry, well cooked
well-placed wood and some glue with a kernel of crushed almond, fresh!
    • Taste
wood, leather, mildew, peppery spices, ripe fruits, some on red fruits, some Spanish melon, sherry with dust, it's very nice!
return of wet, soggy wood, soaked with fruit.
    • Finish
      length of the same aroma!

Fine, vinous, leather, peppered nose. With water, toffee and strawberries! Magnificent. In the mouth, big presence, sherry, spices. Less greedy than expected, rather a style of dry sherry. Fleshy texture. With water, sweetness is put in the spotlight, with this honeyed side! Small notes of coffee. Long enough final where all the maturity of the dram is revealed with ripe fruit but also a little dry, much softer with a little water. A beautiful sherry that surprised me by not playing the card "100% gluttony".

    Enthusiasm 4/5

    • Nose
Sweet, very rich scent of forest fruits. I even think I can see a strawberry. Spicy, nutmeg, some cinnamon, a hint of ginger. Yet to recognize some tropical fruit: melon, something citrus. Toffee, burned sugar, caramel.
    • Taste
A bitter, dark fruit taste. What mint. Spicy, pepper, nutmeg. Chocolate. Gradually the sweet forest fruits come through.
    • Finish
      Bitter-sweet finish. Long.

A typical Glenrothes from the 80s and still with my preferred way (not too much butterscotch like from the 90s)
    • Nose
Fresh, citric, oranges, hints of dried fruits too - not bad
    • Taste
Oily, fruity, cooked oranges, spices, pepper, nutmeg, nougat, toffee - water welcome
    • Finish
Long and warm, more nutty, hints of butterscotch

I must say the undiluted spirit was a bit tight with too much influence of the sherry wood. However, water performed miracles, and turned it into a nice and complex oloroso sherry-matured whisky.

A great sherry bomb! All components such as leather, tobacco, dark fruits, spicy wood, chocolate and espresso are present and make this blind sample a taste experience. A great whisky, I like it very much!
    • Nose
Blind tasting: Intense and strong amber shimmers out of the glass. a rusty, reddish glow lets the sample shine. After pouring the nose exudes an intense sherry aroma. Milk chocolate mixes with fruity, slightly sour berries. A subtle leather touch pervades the fruity aroma. Slowly, the berries turn into overripe fruits. A touch of fresh wood rises from the fruit, I can not smell enough on the fruity nose. Now apricots and oranges suddenly rise from the fine wood note. Plums and dates end in a sweet fruit compote.
    • Taste
Dark chocolate and ground espresso beans are distributed on the tongue and in the mouth area, creating a pleasant sharpness. Again, dark fruits are very present, wooden sharpness exudes a plump warmth with a spicy woody taste. A subtle leather note mingles with a touch of dry and old tobacco leaves. A nutty touch arises.
    • Finish
Dark chocolate, espresso and a light leather note start the finish. For a long time, the finish exudes a spicy woody note from which dark berries sparkle over and over again. Again, this nutty aroma, slowly the finish becomes pale and stale. The old walnut flavor lingers on the tongue for a long time, until a fine leather and tobacco finish slowly completes the finish.
