- Not bad, but not impressive Glen Garioch single cask.
Peat, earth, smoke and salted minerals. Caramelized pear and honey. Lacquered wood.
Oak, spices and honey. Apple cider and pear. Peat, pepper and nutmeg.
Medium length, spicy.
- Single whiskybase sample.
Mineral. A little smoke. Husky. Heather. Almonds. Honey. Pear drops.
Mostly old wood and honey. Some ale. Apples and pears. A little spice later.
Quite long. Oak spice.
- Colour: Gold
Nose: Smooth, aromatic, mineral, smoky, juicy, slightly peat and
austere, with some grassy and honey notes. Close to the Sansibar, but slightly
more mineral and with less toffee.
Taste: Aromatic, rather mineral and smoky,
slightly peaty and austere, with some bitter notes (gentian) and some light
juicy oaky notes. The finish is medium, rather waxy, aromatic, slightly austere
and mineral, with a light bitterness, some floral notes and a touch of
Impression: A very good, well balance and rather mineral-austere
type of Glen Garioch..
- nice fresh whisky, but a bit boring
vanille, glue (Bisonkit) from the bourbon cask, menthol
menthol, refreshing, but also a earthy note
like peppermint, bitter note, long lasting
Pear dry, some spring flowers.
Well balanced on green fruits and citrus fruits.
Average finish on green fruits.
