  1. MrRancho scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

    Has something.
    • Nose
Orange, apple, apricot jam, loose herbal tea, canned meat
    • Taste
Grass, hay, herb garden, sweet, some salt.
    • Finish
Medium long after herbs and grass.

This malt is super, but he has to breathe for a long time. Because Sample is from a bottle that has been open for a long time and that makes it very complex. The oak is still very present but much more pleasant than at the beginning. The salty is super integrated for my taste and everything is very well balanced. He has caramel and a lot of spices. A light smoke floats over everything. Super awesome part. Some old whiskys need to be open longer, as they are initially overcrowded. But then they are partly real pearls.

    Very well
    • Nose
Pears, caramel, heather honey, floral, herbs, meadow and faint hard coal smoke.
    • Taste
Medium sweet, medium bitter and light salty in good
    • Finish
Long and balanced bitter and sweet with notes of juniper, heather and malt syrup. A bit acidic.

Mediocre dram. If the complexity from the nose had continued in the taste/finish, this could have been a killer dram!
    • Nose
Sherry mixed with licorice, light peat, mint and orange peel. Quite entertaining.
    • Taste
The taste is more salty and unfortunately not as fun as the nose.
    • Finish
Bitter as a consequence of too much oak influence.

Each bottle is enclosed with a crystal glass.
