COLOUR: very light white wine (without coloring)

    - definitely not for beginners
    - very powerful body and you can taste the alcohol
    out too
    - Slight burning, seems to be a fairly young whisky
be, but with a very long aftertaste
    - PLV: entry into the special series for around €45 per liter
"Lighthouses", he is ok but in my opinion
I don't need it again, prefer the slightly more expensive ones
    Invest in "lighthouses".
    • Nose
malty, slightly sweet, subtle honey, flowery, citrus fruit, maritime note, light alcoholic note in the background
    • Taste
Easy entry but becoming stronger, oak, slightly sweet, very strong, tart (towards lemon), strong burning sensation on the tongue, combination of alcohol and spices, still clearly young
    • Finish
      medium length, rather sharp alcoholic finish;
very long aftertaste, oak notes stick in the mouth for a damn long time, making it very salivating

Aroma: thick malt, citrus, lemon, lime, vanilla, banana, pickle, oak bark, mint, sea spray broken on the stone on a hot day, iodine, very delicate smoke pulling from a distant fire.
Taste: bright, hot-ginger, malt, vanilla, muffins, salt, honey, fresh mint, a bitter bitterness, some tropical fruits in the background.
Finish: fading spiciness, sweet citrus, vanilla, malt sweetness, medium length.
    Rating: 86
Bottom line: a perfectly made NAS, I liked even a little more than the base 12, with its richness, although its taste is slightly simpler. Distillery which I recently discovered for myself and which struck me with its distinctly sea character against the background of sweetness!
A few days ago I read the unpleasant news that the Old Pulteney is being stopped from releasing 17 and 21 summer releases, and I haven’t even reached them yet ... (

On the nose, vanilla, salt, lemon and vanilla, then back woody!
In the mouth, iodine with vanilla, then broken wood and yellow-white fruits, a little exotic!
In the end, average on fruits, wood, mild but pronounced spices, and quite long on iodine, salt !!
A characteristic dram of the distillery!
    • Nose
simple, almost too flat with salt at first, then a little bit of ciron and vanilla, malt back with damp wood and iodine.

    • Taste
      Young, sweet, vanilla, porridge
    • Finish
      Medium long, grassy, oaky

  8. domani scored this whisky 69 points Expert Senior

Very alcoholic note; but not much to discover - 23.12.2014
    • Nose
Solvent, a little vanilla, maybe a little coconut, pear, lemon
    • Taste
      Flowery, spicy, peppery
    • Finish

  10. HunterRomario scored this whisky 82 points Expert Senior

It's such a cool, basic single malt. I tasted twice blindly, and thirdly, aware of what I was drowning. In the notes I have a tip like BenRiach 12 yo. Nethar then launched our joint tasting on Balblair 2000, and there was a similar look there. Impressions during the tasting were still the same from this whisky. For megavzorek with a volume of 1 deci thank you very much to Peter.
    • Nose
Lighter style. Malt vanilla, fruity (probably apples), and occasionally some kind of woody dullness. (82 b)
    • Taste
The more eloquent (strength 46), vanilla, with chocolate and slightly spicy. Then wood and a little bit of bitterness. (82 b)

  12. Cicero did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

a straightforward ex-Bourbon barrel whisky without frills easy drinking without the special draft he offers what one expects
    • Nose
      salty lemon
      yes, the sea is near
      a little vanilla and coconut
      light and fresh
    • Taste
      a dry sweetie
      some barrel (coconut and cocoa)
      peppery fruit and distant sea
    • Finish
      rather short, peppery-fruity

  13. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

beautiful, tasty typical Bourbon barrel whisky for a good price
    • Nose
salty-lemony freshness (could also be a very light alcoholic stinging in the nose, but distillery and lighthouse gimmick associate salt ;-)), coconut, vanilla
    • Taste
the sweetness outweighs, again coconut, vanilla, a little caramel, tasty, simple, some pepper
    • Finish
slightly sweet peppery, not too long.

  14. irrerelevant scored this whisky 79 points Expert Senior

unripe pineapple, lime, reminiscent of Tomatin Legacy, fresh, mild, slightly maritime, not burning, unpleasant bitter, not sprittig, yet very Brennereibetont, the aroma is quite lax, the alcohol comes through too strong ... not so successful

  15. BottleBox scored this whisky 82 points Expert Junior

    Good bourbon barrel ripened NAS
    • Nose
Lemon, green malt, caramel, coconut and a salty, slightly maritime note
    • Taste
Caramel toffee, then strong citrus and oak together. Then salty and a hint of green pepper. Really strong. Some water releases neat vanilla.
    • Finish
      Long, salty, strong, warm.

  16. Angelos scored this whisky 86 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
Quite briny, some coco and vanilla notes, some unripe pineapples. With water: more coco notes and some fresh mint (spearmint chewing gum?!)
    • Taste
In the beginning astonishing sweet. Quite juicy. Lots of coco notes again, lovely. White grapes and vanilla. Briny again. Really spicy, coriander and some fennel. Also some nuttiness here! Some roasted pine nuts. With water: more juicy taste, becoming sweeter and more balanced.
    • Finish
Quite short as so many young whiskys. Some vanilla remains as well as the spiciness from the oak with the saltiness, but not bitter at all.

  17. The Macallan did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

    Tasted it at Edinburgh Airport.

First impression: sweet vanilla, coconut like dram.

Lovely stuff and worth to buy!! I bought this one overthere on the way back home!
