Spicy & Fruity & Young. The chilli kick on this one is real, not something for the lighthearted drinkers. The nose reminds me of Oloroso cask and virgin oak on the palate.
[78-82] Good buy when I've extra money to spend, most whisky stays within this band.
Waving vanilla pod to start with. Then rich summer fruits (plum, ripe banana). Then raisins, honey, and cinnamon powder. The base is however quite spirity.
Spicy oak attacked the palate up front with chilli, nutmeg, and star anise. Then the underlying fruitiness slowly surfaced with a touch of astringency on the edges.
Mid, dry finish. Spicy & hot (chili & black pepper). Again slightly astringent.
