  3. Segens scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

    A good dram not super complex but a very nice nose with a lot of different influences (honey, caramel, lemon, apple/pear). The alcohol is well balanced and the dram could be a nice daily option as easy to drink. The finish is nothing spectacular as too short and too dry for me.

    All in all a good option! Continuation of the blind tasting 20th of 24 drams. Speyside, 15 years & 57% is my guess!For sure not a 100€ whisky...

  4. rottendon scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

    Since there is not much to complain about, mature but still tasty, sweet but also spicy, round and good. He also does not encourage me to jump in the air.

    Notes from a blind tasting.
    • Nose
      Ripe yellow fruits, caramel, honey, malt and glue, that's the beginning. Soon after, more honey. After a while, significantly more malt and now also sour cucumbers. Acts very dense, alcohol tingling something in the nose. Citrus aromas also rise, the honey stays strong, some grass, the glue has disappeared. It gets warmed up, more honey and caramel with fruit splash, apricots but also salty influences, bouillon cubes and stir-fried minced meat. Dries for a short time, then becomes sweeter again. Cotton candy and marshmallows.
    • Taste
      Moderate, very sweet start with a lot of caramel and honey but also a clear pinch of herbs and a hint of menthol. An idea of white peppers. At the back is also some tanninreiche oak freight. The alcohol could perhaps be integrated a bit better.
    • Finish
      The finish starts sweet and then dries increasingly, leaving a bready nutty occupancy of the mouth, only moderately warming, overall short to medium long, after the second sip nutty and definitely longer, medium long.

    Note by Wilson & Morgan;

    Imagine yourself in a mountain field full of daisies and daffodils, while the cool breeze brings a hint of sap and pine needles… This is the scenario that will meet you when approaching a dram from this unique, very subtle and complex Glenburgie! Aromas of honey, chamomile, hay, fresh flowers and aromatic resin mix in an incredibly fascinating way to lure you in, but that’s just the start of the experience. Its taste just as delicate, fragrant yet rich and bold, with the same soft palette of honey, balsamic camphor, flowery flamboyancy; notes of fresh oranges with a touch of beeswax. The subtle sweetness then leaves stage, and a malty dryness takes place, together with a whiff of black pepper and black liquorice. Stunning and incredibly complex!

  6. Rom did not rate this whisky Expert Junior

    Coconut nose and vanilla not especially expressive. Alcohol well integrated on a vanilla crème brûlée mouth. Average finish on the same aromas. A little flat, lack of relief.

  7. tomy63 scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

    Tasted in the lounge (Witch 2014): Bourbon cask quite classic, vanilla and very fruity, very powerful (the reputation of traffic jams W & M is confirmed). Good length, getting better with aeration. 87/100.
