On the nose, fleeting sensation of orange, then softer fruit (apricot), then pepper, with a return of macerated moldy fruits.
a vine, almost vinegary side, of the grass, then of the leather, the wood in the bottom of the bed, the mold of banana skin and the artichoke background.

  2. Rom scored this whisky 85 points Expert Junior

Honey nose, beeswax, chestnut, apricot, vanilla. Pepper attack, wax and some melted wood; quite dry. Medium finish where pepper dominates. Good, pretty late.

The nose is excellent and the result is not without booking some nice surprises. An evolutionary whisky, if you will, classy, complex, fragrant. Sample.
    • Nose
Fresh and fruity nose with some notes of wax and dust that give a pleasant rustic relief to the basket of fresh fruit that overflows behind. Melon, kiwi, Sicilian lemon, strawberry ... A little vinegar too. Cream pastry, hot frangipane, linden, freshly cut wood. Elegant, complex, attractive.
    • Taste
Malty attack full and mellow. The wood speaks more here: licorice, coffee. The fruits are behind, a little less expressive than the nose. Perfect balance.
    • Finish
Of medium length.Evanescente with a lot of class, on a pleasant point of licorice bitterness.

  6. Sonett scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

An excellent and very priceworthy Caperdonich
    • Nose
Very fresh and fruity nose, Apples, Pears, Apricots, black bananas and fresh green grapes
    • Taste
Enters with a delicious fruitiness, Sweet honey, apples, pears, white raisins at first, then som mild chili tones
    • Finish
Rather short but complex with all the tastes fading out in light oaky bitter almond

  7. Toffie76 scored this whisky 89 points Expert Senior

Magnificent. Initially noted 88 I will go back a good point.
    • Nose
Fruity and vegetal. Pretty pleasant, round. Exotic fruits, candied orange, cake, vanilla. A very pastry / confectionery side.
    • Taste
Fruity, superbly balanced, fresh and clean. A beautiful grain development that is reminiscent of my Glencadam 10 years that I appreciate so much in summer ... The alcohol is really well integrated. A lot of sweetness / fruity aromas. It's long with a beautiful fade out all in shades.
    • Finish
A beautiful finish. The malt seems to fade slowly in a pleasant enough fade. A touch of bitterness makes you want to take a sip.

    Sample from Whiskybase.
    • Nose
Banana, vanilla, caramel, honey, mango, fig, tangerine, cinnamon and oaky spice.
    • Taste
Banana, vanilla, apple, tangerine, caramel, cinnamon and straw. With water a bourbon-like mint note as well.
    • Finish
Banana, vanilla, caramel, tangerine and mint. Though the taste is mainly sweet, the finish quickly becomes dryer.

  9. Bishlouk scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

An explosion of exotic fruits and spices, with as a star ... banana obviously. It's really good and the aromas are very powerful.
    • Nose
A nose that has banana! ;-)
Banana, mandarin, banana, mango, banana, sweet exotic fruit scents, and .... a little banana.
    • Taste
Mouth in the direct continuity of the nose: banana heavily sweetened above all, hints of pineapple, cinnamon, a little pepper. Alcohol is noticeable but well integrated.
    • Finish
Long enough, the finish fades slowly, always on exotic fruits. Pepper pecks the back of the throat.

  10. addyhd scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

Verry nice fruity, lemon, citrus, green banana, vanilla, grass and some custard with some fennel . a totaly `bang for your buck`.

With a few drops of water; still great...............Wow,  taste exactly like a caperdonich with some water ;-)

the 1st 30bt, 2nd 60bt and 3rd release 230bt of this WhB caper are all the same to me, same date of distilling, bottling, same cask, and abv.

great whisky for a great price
