      Very fruity, typicall bourvon-cask-notes, more honey than vanilla

      Wow, what a fruit-cocktail, an exotical fruit-bomb, easy drinkable with 58%, at the end old and mouldy wood

      Long, mouldy wood, spicy, oaky, astringent, some burnt wood

    It is quite amazing how much this malt changes its character between nose and palate as well as finish. This also applies to the version with a few good drops of water; although the nose is even more intense, but changes relatively little on the palate and the finish and the malt loses some of its power. In the nose I like the malt, which I would prefer undiluted, very good; On the palate and the finish you have to like this very special flavor profile.
    • Nose
      Light fruits, juicy grapes, mint, menthol fresh, in the background the oak emerges. Then follow ripe apricots and juicy oranges. An extremely pleasant late spring fresh nose. / With a few good drops of water, the aroma is even fruity-sweeter, but now direction plum.
    • Taste
      Here the 58% rebellious, waxy notes, light cheese flavor, oak, herbs; the fruits from the nose come late, then especially the juicy apricot with orange. / The alcohol rebellion is less pronounced with a little water, the lightness of the cheese with waxiness comes to the fore; the rest with oak and herbs resembles the appearance without water.
    • Finish
      Intense finish, the oak dominated by wax and herbs. / With a little water, the finish softens, as on the palate dominate cheese flavors, wax and oak and some herbs.

    A bang for the buck of course when looking at 60€ in 2013! I am very happy to have a sample of this delicious dram at home which is quite complex and interesting to discover and leaves no guilty conscience when sipping at it which is no more normal with exploding whisky prices nowadays.
    • Nose
      very fruity and balanced nose. i have grapefruit, oranges, vanilla, oak and honey. You never expect almost 60% of alcohol as it is very smooth.
    • Taste
      The alcohol now starts strong on the tongue but releases its power with honey and the juicy orange influence.
    • Finish
      The finish is quite long and the oak of the cask is now there but its giving the dram a round ending.

    Again, Tom & co. again something nice brought to the market ;-)
    The 58% are not at all alcoholic and oppressive. Very balanced and fruity.

    Miltonduff 18 yo, ANHA, 58%, 1995, Bourbon Barrel
    Color: intense amber, blatant for a bourbon barrel
    Nose: Pure: very intense full, ripe fruit, there is blood orange, apricot from the tin, applesauce with cinnamon. Vanilla pudding with honey joins in. A very intense scent! With water: more spices, herbs, the fruit comes back a bit, he is well.

    Taste: Pure: pleasant onset, immediately liqueur-like creamy honey sweetness, blackberry jam and afterwards beautiful slightly bitter orange. Fat, and super drinkable! With water: now sharper start, still very fruity, but here also more oak flavors, light soup spice note that is washed by the fruits. Interesting.
    Finish: very long and more and more wood, good!
    Comment: Pure an incredible fruit bomb, that was a very active barrel. The color is also extremely dark for bourbon ripening. Very tasty and pure better than with water. But you should play with it to tickle out even more interesting flavors! Horny part!

      Oak, honey, vanilla, grass clippings with a little water, white pepper and pineapple are added
    • Taste
      Milk chocolate, pepper, spice from the wood, sweetness, bright fruit, pepper on the tongue, a hint of lemon, to finish slight bitterness from the wood
    • Finish
      Long finish, warm and pleasant, the spice leaves very pleasant and the taste remains long
