Had underestimated this dram on first try, this need a lot of rest. Still fairly oaky but turned alot more lovelier after long rest.

Lovely orange sherry, just abit too bad that the oak polish is abit too strong.

  5. St. Pauli scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

A quite gentle one. Quite fruity and rounded, with mild tannins and spices in the aftertaste. Very good, but not spectacular.
    • Nose
It seems to start as a typical, soft Glenmorangie with its orange influences. Then, the oak kicks in, yet in a good way. Some mild vanilla and sawdust, but also pears, pineapple and some figs from the sherry. Smells verry sappy and fruity.

Water enhances the fruit and reduces the vanilla/sawdust influences
    • Taste
Thick and round, more on dried fruits and honeyed barley now. Nice development. The alcohol is very present without adding water. I detect less dryness than I would expect based on the nose (activity of the oak).

With water: a tad less rounded, more on spices (nutmeg, cinnamon).
    • Finish
Doesn't seem long at first, but keeps on returning. It's a little drying on nutmeg and cinnamon now. Yet the honeyed barley and the dried fruits (apricots) are still there.

  7. TastyDram did not rate this whisky Expert Junior

An unknown but convincing tasty dram. A solid body, pleasantly spicy and sweet. Rather complex and affordable. Priced at € 70 in specialist stores. I bought my sample at The Bonding Dram.

It can take a few drops of water, even at 53.2% ABV. The ABV is probably already reduced. Every MoS Images expression is bottled at this percentage.

My guess on the identity: A teaspooned Glenmorangie that spent eight years or so in a refill sherry cask.
    • Nose
The nose is quite overwhelming. A dusty first impression precedes a sweet aromatic torrent: orange marmalade, caramel, Turkish delight and raisins. Also some musky perfume and liquor chocolates. Whiffs of crushed walnut and creamy cocoa butter.
Water gives it some port influences.
    • Taste
The first sips are dry. Wood shavings, bitter dark chocolate and marzipan. I also discovered some shortbread and spices. Nutmeg and white pepper.
    • Finish
The finish isn't long but pleasantly spicy.
