Yes, it was just as expected. Tastes more like 20 euros than 40, you have to say that costs so much eigtl in the country of origin. ;)
    • Nose
Fine smoky notes, barley, cocoa powder, earthy, hints of vanilla and butter biscuits
    • Taste
Strong and also slightly alcoholic for 46%, first quite sweet, candy and cotton candy, some banana, then lots of cereals, smoked oak again, mint & the cocoa powder
    • Finish
Eichig & gerstig, not so pleasant, both stays medium in length but rather by the alcohol

Moderate peat and burnt wood intermingled. Not very complex, but very effective and quite pleasant indeed. In the mouth, after a nice attack, it spoils. The touch becomes watery. A height for 46%. A little honey. Final rather short and a rough chouia. My drink ended rather quickly in the end. It's the best Paul John I've ever tasted. At the same time, it's the second ...

    Enthusiasm 3/5

    N-
A married of gingery Speyside peat with salty Islay peat, interestingly
complex and fragrant. Milky chocolate and nutty. Mossy and wet wood.

P- Sweet malt and roasted chocolate add good weight to the mouthfeel, mild peat with touch of cooked fruits.

F- Short-medium, warming with airy spice heat.

Clearly a more complex variant of John Paul. The smoke is very subtle on the nose but on the palate it’s much clearer and has a more powerful presence. There is a nice combination of fruity, spicy and smoky aromas, making this whisky very pleasant to drink. I can therefore wholeheartedly recommend it.
