    • The Hine 1953 was bottled 04/03/2013 - spending 60 years in the cask. This is highly unusual for Cognac and indicative of the pedigree of the 1953 Vintage.
    • The Glenfarclas 1953 was bottled 20/09/2012 - spending 58 years in the cask.
    • Both Spirits have been bottled at Cask Strength. Hine 41.9% ABV & Glenfarclas 43.9% ABV.

    Producer`s Notes - Glenfarclas 1953

This unique 1953 Glenfarclas is the oldest cask of whisky owned by the

distillery, the contents of a single Spanish oak sherry cask. It has a gleaming

rich sandy oak colour. Initially, a rich sherried nose which develops to reveal

lovely toffee notes, followed by delicate oak with crisp fresh fruit at the

bottom of the glass. A little air truly opens up this special Speyside malt

whisky. Once it has had time to breathe, a warm taste of spices, stewed fruits

and liquorice develops into an incredibly long finish of toffee apples and

    cinnamon sticks.

"It always send a shiver down my spine, when drinking such an old whisky. My

father was 18 months old when this was made, My Grandfather made this and I get

the honour of sharing this magnificent whisky with you."
    George Grant,

Director of Sales, 6th generation of the Grant family

This bottle is sold as part of a duo, with the second bottle being a bottle of Hine, also distilled in 1953.  Both are presented in obelisks made from English Oak by the H.M Queen`s

cabinetmaker, N.E.J. Stevenson, with the faces of the drawers having been made

from the casks each of these spirits were matured in.
