Best one in the past five years. Beats the pants off the 2011. Far better than the 2016.

I rate this whisky in between 85 and 92 depending on  my mood. Sometimes it tastes like a great old dram from a delicious cask and other times it's just decent.
The peatines is very old style imho.

I didn't actually find any peat what so ever in this. Not in the nose nor the taste.

It is a good dram but tastes artificially sweetened. Lots of raisins, sirupy, dates, chocolate and salt.

Nose

There you go, this one is a Langrow for sure. Typical Longrow peat, soil, wet moss and the sea saltiness. Oh how I adore it...

Lots of peat, quite strong alcohol and then immediatly oak and dark, ripe fruits. Very very complex.
Taste

Sweet and creamy from the beginning, then getting dry and a little bitter due to the oak getinng more and more dominant. Bitter chocolate, that´s it. Not as fruity as I wood have expected after the nosing. Peat, alcohol and oak aromas are just too dominant.

Finish

Wow, strong finish. Kinda dry with some espresso bitterness. Truly powerful.

Comments

No doubt, this is a upper class whisky. Really enjoyed it. I liked the 16yo a little better though.
