Whisky Reviews for Caol Ila 1992 AI
5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 89.07 points
- Sweet on the nose, maritime notes, peat (not too strong) leather, a bit herbaceous, citrus peel. Strong on the palate, peaty, smoky, prominent tart notes on the wood, licorice.
On the finish very tart, smoke, peat, liquorice. Interesting, great whisky.
- A great Caol Ila. Harmony and complexity are outstanding. No water needed, drinks better without it.
Elegant, maritime, fresh, well integrated smoke. Leather, spices, vanilla, some lemon and apple. Ash. Gauze. Complex and deep.
Creamy, oily, salty, vanilla, oak, smoked fish. Tight. Smoke and iodine. Power, but served in a velvet glove.
Round, velvety, vanilla phenolic smoke, again iodine, really nice long. Zero bitterness, zero disturbing wood.
