  1. Calmar scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

A powerful and deep mole, there is something to povrabratsya, there is something to savor, the marsala is present, the finish turned out to be successful, an excellent balance, a beautiful fortress, a lot of oak, for my taste, but this woodiness, it seems, is inherent in all benriakhs.
    • Nose
Dried fruits on the background of sweet wine, many different raisins, creamy notes, boiled sugar, weak notes of acetone and carpentry, the smell of heated processed wood, fruit compote.
    • Taste
The bitterness of oak mixed with the sweetness of marsala, pepper, ginger, candies, lemon and orange peels - powerfully, richly.
    • Finish
Continuation of taste with a gradual emergence of the first oak in the frame of pepper, all the sweet and wine tones, as well as raisins, go to the background.

  2. HunterRomario scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

During the tasting of the Peat Brotherhood in cooperation with our downstairs guest, this whisky ended in a total of sixth out of eight, but my impression of BenRiach overall is even better than that of Arran. But it was a set so balanced and good that it was just for interest. You can see the overall results here: viewtopic.php? F = 9 & t = 2128 & start = 10
    • Nose
Forest honey, mint, nectar from overgrown tropical fruit, new leather boots, smell in haberdashery, bee honey, cedar, exotic wood, balsa, milk student seal, dried bananas ... until some flavor reminds me of some Plantama rums. (90 b)
    • Taste
Bee honey, honey, wood, a hint of fruit, mainly reminds me of orange or mandarin marmalade, nuts. The taste is sweet and dry at the same time. In chocolate flavor with mandarin, it dries. (90 b)

Thanks for the sample Diogenes! A nice whisky, tolerates minimal water. Pleasant and not overloading sweetness!

  4. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

Great whisky, ideal for me pure, you want to chew on it long and smack
    • Nose
immediately upon first sniffing: spicy, nougat in dark chocolate! not a bit pungent or pungent, then softer, caramel, with raisins and dark grapes,
with water then ripe sweet pears and peaches
    • Taste
dry, almost dusty, nut, dark chocolate, slight ginger sharpness, sweet and spicy, oak, a hint of blackberries ... with (too) a lot of water then sweet-fruity notes come through again
    • Finish
      long, dry, bittersweet, spicy

  5. FredrikH scored this whisky 91 points Expert Junior

A really good Benriach. Got myself a bottle after tasting it.
    • Nose
Red fruits and berries. Sweet with soft and fresh oak notes. Very little alcohol.
    • Taste
A mix of ripe sweet red berries. Cinamon and anis. Its fresh, and the oak does not dominante the taste at all. Needs a splash of water.
    • Finish
      Medium long, sweet and gentle.
