Whisky Reviews for Longmorn 1976 MoS

  1. markjedi1 scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

Admittedly, 250 EUR is not cheap. But then, this whisky is an absolutely
    top malt.
    • Nose
Tropical fruit prances towards your nostrils in this quite creamy nose.
Apricots, melons, pineapple, it has it all and more. Apfelstr
    • Taste
The first thing you notice on the palate is the spices. Ginger is more
obvious now, but also white pepper and a leaf of mint that keeps it fresh and
alive. The fruit evolves toward fruit pie. Apple cake with icing sugar. Then a
bitter edge as if from grapefruit skins and Seville oranges. Orangettes! The
oak plays second violin, but is clearly a virtuoso. Wonderful.
    • Finish
finish is very long and reveals some more wood, without going over the top. It
      remains fruity and sweet.

  2. sagara-kun scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

This is not what I expect from a 70s longmorn. Nice but very much about the potpourri.
    • Nose
      Pretty floral nose surprisingly.
Violet, pot pourri. Wood, chemical candy.
      Cristalized sugar. Gunpowder.
    • Taste
In the mouth it is well balanced.
But always on the flowers mainly. Violet, pot pourri. Yellow fruits set back.
A bit of dust, wood and chocolate.
    • Finish
Final on the caramel, the pot pourri.

    • Nose
Exotic fruits. Apricot nectar, a little vanilla too.
    • Taste
Exotic fruits in shambles! Pineapple, kiwi, apricot, passion fruit .. It's very good! a little vanilla too.
    • Finish
Very long, always on the same fruits ... a little red / vanilla sugar.

Very good and elegant Longmorn. Maybe a bit too restrained overall.

    Tasting note from august 2017.
    • Nose
Wood varnish notes, banana, apricot, vanilla, honey. A bit closed and even after aeration it doesn't open that much.
    • Taste
Fruits from the nose and orange, spices, mint and honey.
    • Finish
      Medium, creamy, minty, spicy, salty.

  6. bakerman scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

Very good whisky with a great finish
    • Nose
Sweet melon, banana, apricot, little vanilla and honey
    • Taste
      Apricot jam, ginger and butter
    • Finish
Long on oak, some fruits, spice and pepper

  7. Rom did not rate this whisky Expert Junior

Caramel nose, vanilla, coconut with a touch of solvent, the dilution brings a moist cling. Attack caramelized then yellow fruits then an alcoholic dust. Final long but too alcoholic. Not bad.

a real Longmorn 76 bourbon, very fruity, a little lemony, long, very enjoyable. 90/100.
