    Color: Deep Gold.

Nose: elderflower syrup, rosehip tea, passion fruit. Freshly cut grass. Dry sawdust, oatmeal, banana bread. Overripe pears.

Mouth: oatmeal, orange peel, elderflower syrup, passion fruit. Rather thin body. Espresso.

Finish: Medium long, on the woody side. Nutmeg, espresso. Will become unappetizingly dry after a few minutes.

Dreamlike nose, then the tannins take over. Due to the nose a worthy 88 + bus passenger. 88P.

    Color: Deep Gold.

Dreamlike nose, intense overripe-fruity. After that unfortunately too many tannins.

Cooked fruits, "old wine", prunes with sweetness. This is what you expect from an aged whisky, but not necessarily my favorite profile. But things are changing fast. Malt, chocolate, grassy touch, hint of citrus ... On the palate, flexibility given by the triple distillation but large malty presence (it is a single malt, not a blend, or a pure pot still), sweet and especially fruity: a fruit mixture with sherried red fruits on one side (which is not part of the barrels used for ripening) and, on the other hand, very intense exotic fruits. This is a Sauternes finish: everything is explained! The finish is long and the fruits, even more present than in the mouth. What fullness! Is it possible that this is even better with a water feature? The answer is yes ! On the nose, the already generous fruits take a big blow of expenses. In the mouth, all the above-mentioned aromas are underlined and gain in precision. 3 small centilitres will not have been enough to discover all the secrets of this drink! Enthusiasm 5/5

    • Nose
Ohh what a smell, flowers and lots of tropical fruit.
    • Taste
Delicious honey-soft with the tropical fruit.
    • Finish
Medium aftertaste from sweet to dry with a little pepper.

A great success, as long as you like the Irish style, in full representation here. Personally, I like! Only the mouth a little simpler and slightly alcoholic finish prevents it from reaching the 90 according to my tastes.
    • Nose
Ultra fruity. Ripe banana characteristic of the Irish, yellow fruits at the limit of rot. A woody touch, and the malt that stands out in the background. And I do not know if it is the fact of knowing that makes me say that, but I find sweet / honey as in some Sauternes ... Well balanced, the whole never falls into excess, it looks nice !!
    • Taste
Body less fat than I would have thought, always this intense fruit that dominates, the reduction is well mastered. The banana, always. Less complex and intoxicating than the nose, the mouth is nevertheless devilishly effective!
    • Finish
Pretty good length, and tingling, alcohol remade timidly surface .. The noble wood can be imagined in the final.

C: Decidedly Irish all over. It’s ideally what I want Aldi’s 26yo Irish single malt WB to be more like. Both display similar character traits throughout, with the Aldi outperformed at every stage however. Curious Cognac-eseque butterscotch & chestnut wood sweetness, but actually a fair amount of that sweet curiousness comes from the Sauternes finish. That sweet white wine component brings a honeyed Glenmorangie-esque taste profile to the palate. Concludes with the same Irishness like on the nose that incorporates lovely hints of smoke. Very decent indeed. Popular not just for the local granite-filled stopper.

Another good Teeling 21 years old. I am not sure of the impact of the Sauternes cask but it is dangerously drinkable.
    • Nose
Syrup of sugars, basket of exotic fruits. Light woody.
    • Taste
Beautiful reduction, mastered as it should. Exotic fruits, white fruits and always this light woody.
    • Finish
Beautiful bitterness accompanied by sugar and fruits.
