Don't know why a comment from Serge on cask 806 should show up here with cask 2993. This is a totally different Expression !

Besides, as mentioned elsewhere, it seems that Serge doesn't like the exploitation of his articles especially without a link to his website.

Blind tasting: A very good whisky. The smoke is present but not dominant. The sherry (or port) barrels bring beautiful fruit notes. The clearly perceptible oak suggests a more advanced age. I give the whisky 89 points.
My first guess about the smell was BenRiach Solstice 17, but on the palate he was not fruity enough for that. A BenRiach could be it anyway, because the smoke is not Islay typical except maybe Bowmore. But for Bowmore he has too much smoke again. The age I estimate at least 15 years.
    • Nose
The first thing I smell is smoke. Then come sweet red fruits, wild strawberries, spice and caramel in the background from the oak. I like it well and I feel familiar.
    • Taste
The strong start brings sweet smoke, the whisky tingles on the tongue. Again red fruits are there, but not as sweet as in the nose. The oak is also present again. My guess after the Verriechen confirmed on the palate is not necessarily. The smoke is more of a campfire rather than medical.
    • Finish
Espresso and dark chocolate, then smoke again and at the very end a hint of caramel or burned sugar; medium to long

I haven't tried adding water since I only got a small sample but I would think it drowns quite quickly. So be aware of that if you want to dilute it down a bit and only add a few drops.
    • Nose
Good luck with this one if you get it served for a blind tasting!
I would have put it straight to Islay. It is extremely close to your favourite, sherry finished whisky from Islay. The peat smoke is properly integrated and blends into the whole array of aromas after a moment and you get the usual PX sherry influence. This is mainly a sweet fruityness, but not too heavy since it is only PX finished. You get some lighter fruits as well.
    • Taste
Nicely balanced smoke, fruit, alcohol, sweetness and oak influence towards the finish.
    • Finish
Medium finish, subtle tannin notes stay after the PX sweetness is gone.
