This Arran is like the other ex bourbon cask maturation with some finish quite enjoyable but not as harmonic as the Amarone. Quite delicious in combination with this "special" over tannined ex bourbon cask maturation but a tad to bitter.Concerning price/performance ratio: 8/10

Simply complex and enlightening, milky cocoa and nutty. Hints of
earthiness linger on the fragrant of sun-dried cotton shirt. Grassy and
    close to nature.

P- Solid built but pleasant, let the rich flavours caressing on the palate. Grapey and lightly tannin, chewy. Tart berries.

F- Smooth and long. Fine balance of charm and bold. Thin coffee aroma with gum tickling sensation.

It is a pretty sweet whisky that will not appeal to everyone. I liked him but he will certainly not want to drink too often. This is more of a whisky that you have to drink in small amounts and is very sweet to the liqueur side.
    • Nose
Spicy, sweet port, oak later citrus comes through (mandarins) has a powerful fragrance. Then come caramel, hazelnuts, honey, chocolate raisins and vanilla.
    • Taste
Very sweet port, full of fruity (mandarins, raisins, dried fruit, apple) and spicy (spice cake). Spicy because of the high alcohol percentage. Plum pudding and barley sugars.
    • Finish
Long and powerful aftertaste. Especially the barley sugars are dominant in this complex whisky

The other finishes of the Core Range are better.... in my opinion... although I usually reallyl like Port-Finishes!
