  1. Magnus Hillman scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

This is a demanding whisky but without doubt the best Mackmyra I have tried.Mostly because it was much more balanced at the development and finish and did not feel as young and immature as many Mackmyra does.  Thanks to Lukas Ljungdahl for the sample.

    • Nose
Citrus, vanilla, perfume and grass. Not a complex nose at all.
    • Taste
Oily texture and some fruity peppery arrival which develops towards aromatic white pepper, citrus, bitter honey and malt. The vanilla is in the background with some hay.
    • Finish
The finish is warm and peppery with eukalyptus, cough medicine, bitter wood, licorice, bitter licorice in particular.

Disappointing, especially given the price. Unfortunately that was not enough.
    • Nose
Pretty monotonous and not really complex. There are many floral notes, some oak and even less honey sweetness, that's it. The sherry casks I search almost in vain, at most can be guessed the. Could also be a young Speysider, which in this case is not a compliment.
Slightly improved after a few minutes in the glass, but it now shows slightly fruity notes and something like damp smoke, albeit very discreet.
    • Taste
Slightly sweet, noticeable oak spiciness and something like hot pepper. Very light smoke that does not really unfold and stays in the background. Here, too, grassy and unspectacular.
    • Finish
Very long and initially appealing, with slightly sweet notes and some smoke. In the end a touch too bitter for my taste.
