Wonderful bottling, especially the taste is excellent. Significantly better than the 5 year old at 40% and the 8 year old at 43%, which we had in the same tasting session.
    • Nose
Warming and surprisingly intensive, mainly on sherry, caramel, leather and liquorice. In addition there are hints of salmiac and even smoke - lovely.
    • Taste
Wow, a liquid chocolate toffee! Smooth, oily and harmonic with additional dark honey, concentrated black tea and sherry. There seems to be some eucalyptus in the background. Very tasty.
    • Finish
Medium long and pleasant on chocolate toffee, sherry and tea.

A lot of OBF. A very harmonious malt, lots of sweetness, herbs, old sherry, lovage and also very mild due to the alcohol.

Water: No, it is set with 43% perfect, some water elicits the malt in the nose a few citrus notes and more liquorice Conclusion:

A fantastic malt that unfortunately weakens in the finish, it costs him in my rating 1-2 points. It used to be a lot better

Wow, what a great sherry nose: sweet rum raisins paired with dry, earthy leather notes, some licorice, some tobacco, plum wine and a few oak tannins, all perfectly harmonious, soft and round, even a small amount of smoke I can perceive
    • Taste
      88 88
Soft start, sherry, chocolate is the main thing here, some toffee, nut / nougat, very subtle smoke and some oak
    • Finish
      86 86
medium to short, here it is weaker than in the nose and in the mouth: sherry flavors, and oak, which is slightly bitter, especially licorice / licorice notes

somehow did not impress at all, especially the taste-finish, some sense of bitterness with sourness in the general background, maybe not my set of fruits

Nice example of the sherry casks of that time

At the beginning - the earthy character of this Aberlour was strange to me ...

In the meanwhile I adore it!
