Whisky Reviews for Strathclyde 1977 SMWS G10.2

1 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 86.75 points

  1. St. Pauli scored this whisky 82 points Connoisseur

The alcohol was too present in my opinion, blocking quite some of the senses probably. When diluted, it got better. Still not a very complex dram to be honest.
    • Nose
A bit shy and alcoholic. If you are used to that, confectionery (banana and cherry candy), coconut, furniture polish. Further, a soft wood note. With water, a bit of pine sap too.
    • Taste
Still rather alcoholic and hot. Adding water is essential in my opinion. Then you get a fruity and spicy grain whisky. It's still dominated by banana and coconut (and a bit of the polish). But now, ginger bread, crushed pepper, cardamom and cinnamon join. It leads to a rather dry palate.
    • Finish
Moderately long, and still burning on the alcohol. It holds the middle of the tropical side (fruit, coconut) and the Oriental side (spices).
