This was the first I ever tasted from the a`Bunadh serie. It was in Germany - Bonn to be exactly - where the first ever international whisky fest was being held for that region (later it moved to Limburg). I remebered that I was a day out with a certain mr MacLean and he took me on his trail for aquiring some malt for the upcomming tasting event. At Aberlour he stopped and a handsome lady by the name of Ann Miller supplied him some Aberlour a`Bunadh. As when the tasting went on we finally came to the a`Bunadh and boy oh boy what a delicious dram it was. The apples where flourishing as so was the richness of the sherry wood. The flavor was bold, strong and sweet coated apple toffee like, with some water more aroma`s like pear and other estery notes came out of the box. The finish was great, warm, long and yet that great richness again. One word FANTASTIC!!

I Love the power of Aberlour! It has great taste of sherry and fruits.

This also is a powerful scotch so I don`t recommend it to new whisky

users. It is good to gain a palate that recognizes the difference

between cask strength and some that are less ABV like 40% or 43%.
